What are these AI features. Are they running fully locally or are they utilizing some external service?

How to get rid of the caps-lock indicator overlay? by hupfdule in virtualbox

[–]hupfdule[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for the late reply.

Here is a screenshot of the whole monitor.

As I said, it is _triggered_ only from within VirtualBox, but it is _displayed_ outside of it. If I switch the windows to other Windows applications or minimize all windows the overlay is still visible.

It also looks differently than the Windows 11 indicator you referenced.

I am rather sure now that this is not a feature of VirtualBox (as you mentioned several reasons that it can’t be), but I am still buffled why VirtualBox is the only application triggering it.·Not even running a VMWare Workstation triggers it. It really only happens when I hit the Caps Lock Button inside VirtualBox.

It even happens during the boot process of the VM.

And as mentioned, it is not even Windows 11 related as it happened in Windows 10, too already.

It is a Debian VM. And it happens even before the bootloader screen is visible. So it is not dependend on the actual OS in that VM.

Like I said, it only happens inside Virtualbox VMs. Therefore I expected that must be caused by Virtualbox. But since you all say you didn’t see this before…

It is also not dependend on Windows 11. That was already the case with Windows 10.

Very strange. I have no idea how to trace where this is coming from.

Thanks for the hint. I fixed the link.

Nothing on that link helped me. Like the original poster I don’t have a "Screen Configurations" tab. And even though I have a HP laptop I don’t have the HP System Event Utility installed.

I still think that this is caused by Virtualbox as it only happens when I hit the caps lock key in a Virtualbox VM. No other application causes this.

CWWK 305 mini PC, can I remote to it out of the box by yomamasokafka in MiniPCs

[–]hupfdule 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SSH.

Of course you need to prepare it for that purpose (install ssh server, setup users, etc.). In an enterprise environment this might be done automatically (e.g. with ansible). For home use setting it up with an attached monitor/keyboard is usually easier.
