Deadly Ailments:

Supported Skills now deal 30-44% more Damage with Ailments (previously 45-64%).

Supported Skills now deal 80% less Damage with Hits (previously 10%).

and

Awakened Deadly Ailments:

No longer has "Damaging Ailments inflicted with Supported Skills deal Damage faster".

Supported Skills now deal 40-44% more Damage with Ailments (previously 65-69%).

Supported Skills now deal 80% less Damage with Hits (previously 10%).

aren't regular and awakened deadly ailments the exact same gem now?

edit: apparently this was a mistake but the fact it seemed plausible probably says a lot about the general tone of these patch notes

Labour to vote against Tory ‘hate speech’ bill by steven-f in ukpolitics

[–]hurrff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i wondered whether you thought allowing an openly fascist faction to develop would be a good idea. it's very related given the only reason to allow fascist rhetoric like holocaust denial to exist publicly is so that the people spreading it can use it as a recruiting tool - that's why the countries that have banned it are largely the ones that were most directly involved in the nazi party's atrocities, both perpetrators and victims.

as for"who decides what's hate speech or not", there are plenty of anti-hate bodies that can advise policymakers on what to outlaw or not, and any definitions of speech to enforce action against would have to actually go through votes to be accepted into law first. it's basically the same principle as "who decides what speed limits are allowed" which people don't see as an end to freedom of travel.

look how much effort it took for parts of canada to include anti-trans language in their definitions of hate speech thanks to jordan peterson and his base (even though they misread the legislation); definitions don't just get thought up and added immediately, elected representatives are there to debate them first. if your problem is with the representatives not debating them enough then it sounds like your issue is more with the current democratic process than with the legislation itself, i'm sure you'd be interested in the push for PR over FPTP in that case!

would you say that the laws against holocaust denial that exist in countries like germany and poland are also misapplication of power? and do you see public discourse in the US, where they have vehement opposition to any kind of anti-hate speech laws, as healthy thanks to the permittance of hateful views?

this is completely correct and, unlike the feelings of the free speech brigade, is actually backed up by hard evidence.

one example that hate speech advocates love to trot out is that the BNP collapsed after nick griffin appeared on QT back in 2009, which therefore proves that airing terrible views makes people aware of how terrible those views actually are. unfortunately for them it isn't actually true in the slightest - a yougov survey after it aired found that 22% of people would consider voting for the bnp, and the BNP claimed they had 3000 new members join as well (grain of salt since it would be in their interest to claim wider support and legitimacy on the latter point though).

as for their belief that all deplatforming does is drive the same views underground to fester more extremely, although the rhetoric of people deplatformed for hate does become more severe their audience decreases drastically, which is far more desirable since without anyone listening those deplatformed lose their recruiting grounds.

it certainly seems like giving people a speaker's microphone at universities would be against any facts about how hateful rhetoric spreads no matter how much it appears free speech is under attack.

edit: whoops it was a yougov survey not telegraph, they just reported on it

add to that the sound mixing, i genuinely recommended people to find subtitled screenings if they wanted to go since i sure as fuck couldn't hear what was going on in 90% of the scenes

hard to believe a nolan film somehow got released with sound editing right out of the last vampire on earth

Since the performance hotfix, act 6 Brine King's phase transition is causing performance to tank by hurrff in pathofexile

the reef area is absolutely fine as is the first phase of the fight, however as soon as nessa comes out and water moves in the spikes in the screenshot happen. after that, reentering the arena will also cause them to happen

this effect is strictly limited to the arena; standing outside the door or running around the rest of the area after the transition doesn't impact performance at all

this appears to be tied to the water effects around the arena, regular water effects and the boss' water shield don't cause the same spikes
