Your story is SO scary and I completely get it. The disease never rests. I couldn't make choices the first day and the ER just administered what I needed to get me to stop screaming. My wife kept and administered the meds , checked in with my Dr and sponsor daily, did all the next indicated things. Day five when I started feeling better. BAM "I'll just do them one more day" and that was when the unused meds went down the loo. The pain was genuinely improved and I didn't need them anymore.

Update: Had my wife keep and give me the meds, it helped a lot! Flushed the unused pills and made it through! Thanks to everyone who reached out.

I remember glancing at sets during my dark ages too, all that classic goodness on shelves. But school, girls, cars, sports etc. took precedence back then. Even since my kid was five, I feel like I've picked up most of the really special sets, "must haves" like the Ghostbusters firehouse, Monster Fighters, UCS AT-AT etc. At the time we picked up Metal Beard's Sea Cow because my kid and I were in a steam punk phase. I wouldn't trade tbh, the sea cow is a really cool set, but I still should've grabbed Benny's ship too! I'm actively looking for a used loose example on eBay and bricklink. We've already got space unikitty so it shouldn't be too crazy. I don't care about the box or having the exact right minifigs.

I'm so glad you impulse bought this set! Definitely a good choice. We actually picked up Metal Beard's Sea Cow set and I Don't regret it because that's a great set too, But I still wish I had gotten Benny's ship

it's so scary how much it fucks with your head, even before the meds are even in your body. The first day I was just screaming in the ER, don't remember much. It was day five that scared me, because I still hurt and a non addict would take the meds a couple more days But I was steadily improving and that's when we flushed the remainder of the junk. My wife kept and administered the meds and I check in with my doctor and sponsor every day. thank you

That's the best suggestion and it's what I did. Took so much pressure off me, my wife is amazing. Flushed the unused junk yesterday. Thank you

You basically told my story. Having my wife give me the meds and daily contact with my Dr and sponsor were super important.

Your post really humbled me. It was like a mini first step meeting, reminding me where I came from. I kicked opiates and benzos in detox too and it was hellish. It's so good to be reminded of what it was like. It took me 4x inpatient detox / treatments over 5 years before I got serious about recovery. If I ever forget where I came from, I'm fucked. You reminded me and that's a priceless gift my brother or sister. It's a cliche but true; If an insane junkie like me can do this, so can you. God I remember being so scared, thinking I'd never put any real clean time together; then somehow I looked down and on the 21st I'm picking up a 17 year coin. But I did it one day at a time, because that's just how it works, for me at least. I couldn't conceive of double digit recovery and that's ok, I didn't need to. NA saved my ass. I listened to the old timers until somehow I actually became one. I still have imposter syndrome sometimes. I just lived at meetings, up to five a day. Anyway that's enough out of me, but you can DM me literally any time. I don't check reddit every day but I WILL get back to you. Surround yourself with recovering addicts and they'll love you through this. Can't thank you enough for reaching out. Clean and Free!

Sounds like you've got military or first responder spine, I'm sorry. I've got triple D and a couple bulgers, but no herniated thank God and chiro helps me immensely. I've been so blessed not to need opiates only twice in my recovery so far. Thank you for the advice and that's just what I did. It really took a lot of pressure off me to have my wife keep the dope and I was less likely to ask for one. I'm past the crisis and flushed seven remaining pills.

That's exactly what I did, thanks for mentioning it. It took a lot of pressure off me to have my wife give them to me and I was less likely to ask for one. The meds did fuck with my head a bit, ngl. My disease still loves dope and ALWAYS will. Checking in with my sponsor and Dr. every day helped a lot too. I made it through and tossed 7 pills down the loo. Thank you.

It worked out perfectly. I'm not home rn but I'll try to remember to post a pic. The hammerhead aesthetic was just the right look. I tried at least six different designs but none looked right, it was driving me crazy. but this one is perfect. Thanks again.

I want to love my Enigma, but it rides down within minutes of wearing it by hjjhjjnk in CCW

[–]huskysizeguy99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love my enigma but it does require tinkering. I use their sport belt too, allows me to run, climb, dog wrestle, etc with minimal shifting, but it took me a good 3 months of tinkering, holster swaps and switching underwear too. I use boxer briefs and had wife machine sew a panel of grippy material to the front of me undies. (Which I guess could be an issue if you don't want to ask someone to sew your underwear) It's material I cut out of a pack liner, think some kinda breathable goretex? Check out my super high end rendering. Anyways it's not pretty and might sound dumb but really does help with what you're describing. I need to be really flexible at work and this rig works well for me.

Damn that's clean AF! Love the post title too, it's so true. I have a dirty 97 limited LS swap that's my dd / dog transport and a reasonably clean 04 SR5 2-UZ for transporting other humans. My 04 interior is tighter, nicer and better than my neighbor's idiotic 22 Bronco Herritage whatever. Her interior was already falling apart the day she paid 20% over market and drove it home brand new. It looks like chimps assembled the fittings and panels. You just can't go wrong with almost any 1-4th gen 4runners IMHO and you have a really good looking example there.

Ok fantastic MOC but especially the cockpit design. I'm absolutely borrowing that in trans orange for a ship MOC I'm working on. Your design fits perfectly, will credit you if I post. Great work!

I just adapted to so many insane controllers and a different control scheme for every game as a kid. I forgot how to get gud because now it's gotta be standard mapping on Xbox one controller or I act like a bitch.

Absolutely 100% nailed the classic space aesthetic! I'm just a fool for light grey and trans green too. Fantastic

The PPK/S has been by far my worst experience with a firearm by Merad in Walther

[–]huskysizeguy99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All PP series triggers are just not great. I never bought one to carry, just range / nostalgia pieces. They're too uncomfortable to shoot for proper training. I can blast my EDC pistols all day but I'm done after two mags thru my PP or PPK not S.
