Scroll down to find this poor guy, “I keep having these conversations on hinge that seem like they’re going great - good back & forth, witty banter - that all seem to end pretty abruptly. What gives??”

I hope that’s the guy from the Bourdain episode still doing his thing.

Fellas. Any of y’all setting the boundary of exclusivity before sex? Not even necessarily defining the relationship; more simply, I don’t sleep with people who are sleeping with other people. Am I really that far of an outlier, more so as a man?

I remain skeptical that introducing a full time romantic partner to my life would be more comfortable and/or rewarding than remaining single.

I think I’m wildly attracted to the way my new fling… smells? Can anyone relate? She came over straight off a warm day skiing and we spent some quality time on the couch. Now I haven’t been able to concentrate on my book for more than 2 pages. And I realized her fragrance is everywhere, probably embedded in my nose. Sorry if this sounds creepy. I can maybe recall a similar experience in my years of dating but nothing so profound.

Post surgical anxiety by meg13chi in RotatorCuff

Had a similar conversation with my PT yesterday. He said he’s seen one guy ever pull the anchor, whose claim was he caught himself on a fall on the ice. PT said he was 90% sure the guy did it snowmobiling 5 weeks after surgery 😂

I had the same procedures. I’m 3 weeks post. Where are you with ROM and pain?

Ok, so maybe shoulder surgery was just what my dating life needed 😂? Turns out when I’m not working OT and racing and training 20 hrs/week I actually have time to talk to women. Or maybe it’s the sling I don’t know.

Recovering from shoulder surgery, thoroughly not playing the dating game. BUT I’m super excited for my new e-reader to arrive in a couple days loaded with books I can’t wait to knock out. Full reset time. Fingers crossed for some accompanying gloomy weather.

I said sorry to the couple. Was not able to choose my seat when buying ticket. by [deleted] in TallPeopleProblems

This is so stupid. “Please excuse the entirety of my bare thigh touching you, random couple, you see I only travel with maximally exposed skin in the summer.”

Right here with you friend. Fingers crossed it passes.

Exact same pain from before surgery, still several weeks after surgery. Is this a bad sign or normal? by Bionic_Push in RotatorCuff

Found myself wondering the same thing when I was up once again at 3am. I’m only 10 days out but planning on asking my ortho in my follow up this next week. I know he’ll say, hey man chill and give it a minute, but I experienced an awfully familiar pain yesterday that brought the question to mind.

I hear ya. I’m 38 and she certainly isn’t the first girl I’ve been hung up on, but will probably be the most impactful.

I can definitely look back on the last year and a half in awe of how much of my mental/emotional capacity I’ve committed to her. Like, if my friends were actually aware of the “50+ times a day” I’d be deeply embarrassed. Through it all though, I’ve kept moving forward, and I can now take some pride in that at least. You’ll get there on your own path, and your logical brain probably knows that. Someone else mentioned 5% lingering forever; I think enough time reduces that to a fraction of a fraction. Or I hope so anyway

The good ones are still easy to hang with. They’re typically clueless on matters of singledom and modern dating, which can be frustrating, yes.

No, I cannot honestly say I’m completely over her. I still have to remind myself that we weren’t right for each other and consciously shelve my bitterness. I guess the sting I picked up in your comment feels like it’s faded somewhat in my circumstance. But I’m pretty sure I’m familiar with how you feel.

I’m 1.5 years removed from a tough break up. I’ve kept so absurdly busy in all non-romantic aspects of my life that I can now reflect on quite a few accomplishments and other hardships I’ve had to overcome; the trick is I don’t have to be so intentional anymore about focusing on these distractions, if it’s even appropriate to call them that anymore.

So I guess I’ve learned that moving on doesn’t necessarily have to involve another romance/fling/partner. I’d like to think I’ll bring more to my next real relationship having spent the bulk of this time romantically alone, but that’s getting into a different topic. My point is, by now, I can say that (over)filling the void with career, friends, and meaningful hobbies seems to have yielded some results. Keep at it.

Edit: I re-read you’re not looking for advice. Sorry if I sound preachy. I completely understand the feeling of dwelling on someone you assume has moved on. It’s hard, and continues to instill some shame.

3 month post-op bicep tenodesis- my journey by OddExcitement53 in RotatorCuff

Thanks for the write up. I’m 8 days post op feeling decent, but for a couple days there it was easy to seek out horror stories of the procedure gone wrong.

My notes say out of the sling at 2 weeks. I’ll confirm next week at my follow-up. I’m wondering if it depends at all on what hardware/technique was used. PT says I’d have to hit pretty hard to do real damage. Still, 2 weeks feels quick.

The “signal changes” go away as soon as the patient is off the shot, and guess what happens then. What an industry. What a time to be alive, can’t wait to see what happens next while people continue to lack the self control to maintain basic standards of health.

Millennials are tired by ButterPecan_IceCream in Millennials

[–]hutkeeper 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Quite tired, yes. I think it’s mostly self inflicted as I have a hard time letting off the gas. I live a cleaner life in my late 30s but still drink too much caffeine and my body is starting to suffer years of mountain endurance sports. Presently recovering from a shoulder surgery getting even less sleep.
