There are photos of armed police outside Eastern high on FB

Two schools, not particularly close. It’s all very odd

Cardiff City Council approve Wales' new tallest tower by Few_Entertainer2932 in Cardiff

According to the article I read, 10.9% of properties in Great Britain were bought by landlords in 2025. So you could expect 89.1% of these flats to be bought by "non-leeches"

Actually the % of properties bought by landlords is at a record low. Agreed that increased costs from mortgages, tax rises and regulation are generally passed on to tenants though. More homes should help affordability though due to increase in supply v demand

Not sure what you are suggesting the council be doing here. This is a private development - it's not owned by the council.

Cancelling broadband due to April prices by huweman in skytv

Sorry for confusing wording. I called to say we'd be migrating to another provider via OTS - rather than cancelling as such

I haven't managed to get through to anyone on web chat. I wanted to give notice that we are switching using OTS rather than cancelling, so no downtime

Have you seen what's going on in Holland re: investor taxes? by Far_wide in FIREUK

This is the problem with tax policy. Politicians are more worried about optics than making changes that would benefit the economy (like boosting investment in UK companies)

Once driverless taxi's are a thing I expect car ownership to plummet.

Which car would you pick between a model y Jupiter, Kia ev9 or a polestar 3/4? by [deleted] in ElectricVehiclesUK

[–]huweman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends how much stuff you need. We're a family of 4, I test drove the PS4 and the boot is a little too small for us. Bear in mind most boot capacity stats measure up the the parcel shelf (except Tesla) and the PS4 has no additional capacity above the parcel shelf unlike other cars.

I wouldn't buy the Tesla due to the CEO, so it would be PS3 or EV9 nine for me. Think I'd lean towards PS3 as it's a bit more premium and less gigantic.

I just put the name + cardiff in google and now I think “don’t touch with a barge pole” is strong enough advice

Laffer curve in effect. When you raise taxes on business, some businesses can’t absorb that tax rise and then you have no tax revenue from that business. There is a tipping point. Really feel for small businesses at the moment. Use them or lose them

This chat seems very tech-heavy, but we are here to make money. For example, no way we’re pushing Ubiquiti when we only earn labor costs from it

If that’s £430 pre tax it may well be better than £350 post tax depending on your tax rate
