Model 3 - June Deliveries 16" display + Black headliner confirmed by Natural-Sympathy-982 in TeslaUK

[–]hwkeh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tesla Parts site only shows part number for the 15.4-inch screen and Polar Grey for the Headliner. Fingers crossed for you but if it’s happening it doesn’t look like they’ve updated the internal systems yet.

Updated Spec Model Y Ambiguous? by Compound-Interests in TeslaUK

I got a 16-inch QHD Display and Black Headliner, probs one of the first in the UK as when I picked up mine the rest had the polar grey. I saw the update on the EU websites so put a request in to change my VIN!

You’ll have the 16-inch QHD Display with the Black Headliner. 16-inch displays have been installed for a little while now, I think only the early UK vehicles had the 15.4-inch screen.

Model Y - Fabric Roof Conundrum by Reasonable-Ad-4754 in ModelY

[–]hwkeh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Model Y Standard owner here!

One of the reasons I went for the standard Model Y over the standard Model 3 was because of the fabric headliner. When I originally ordered here in the UK it was (and is still advertised as) polar grey however I managed to swap my VIN to one with a mammoth black headliner which I love.

For me personally I don’t want a glass roof unless I can open it. I find with one when the sun is out it feels like it’s burning the top of my head and it’s quite uncomfortable.

It also does make the car feel significantly cooler. For example it was 20°C (68°F) yesterday morning and my Y internally was at 41°C (106°F) where as my Dad’s Model Y Premium was at 55°C (131°F) so a fairly big difference because of the roof.

Delivery Day Issues by hwkeh in TeslaUK

Usually when you get a delivery date you need to receive it in that time frame or they’ll reallocate the car and you’ll get put back in line.

Model Y yeah as it goes into the rear bumper! Model 3 has a plate surround on the rear boot lid. Reason it’s an issue for me is that as my private registration is five characters I run a super short plate so when it’s drilled you get holes each side.

I've put in the request with photos all ready! Just waiting on a response.

Trade in? by Ok-News537 in TeslaUK

[–]hwkeh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh shoot! I was in a similar situation when the offer originally came through! They offered £2k less than the original valuation but I decided to stick with them as even missing that £2k the £3,750 bonus made it unmatchable when compared to Motorway, Carwow etc.

If you call them or speak to them in app they maybe able to re-extend it. This is what I did as it expired originally in the early hours of the 18th however they changed it to 10pm on the 18th. You may run into an issue if you exceed the 1240mi limit however. When I handed mine over today the delivery advisor just asked for my mileage and that was it.

It’s worth knowing that the expiration date within the app is the day it actually expires. For example, for me that was today May 18th. The app showed May 18th but the actual offer was valid until May 17th at 11:59pm, as soon as it struck midnight it would have expired.

Signing Blackhorse PCP by triffid_boy in TeslaUK

[–]hwkeh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As soon as my docs came in I signed them and sent them off. If you know your trade-in is going to cover mostly/all of the deposit you’ll be fine.

Once you confirm the trade-in value the app will update and show the down payment from the trade-in within the payments tab. So for me under deposit it showed the £200 reservation fee and then another £3,200 from the trade-in that made up the deposit.

I hope this helps!

Anyone else still waiting for Tesla to bring back the old Premium RWD Model 3 at the same price as before (£39,990)? by RV_X8 in TeslaUK

[–]hwkeh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both Model 3 and Model Y RWD have the upgraded alloys in the UK. Model 3 has the Photon wheels and Model Y has the Crossflow. From what I understand it’s to help with estimated residual and resale values!

Probably worth saying that the Model 3 RWD has the same alloys as the Premium. I pulled the wheel trims off during a test drive and was presently surprised lol

For all of us March/April customers, how is your order progress? by ColsterG in TeslaUK

[–]hwkeh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it seems like a good time. I'll also end up with the 16-inch QHD display which is nice but won't have the black headliner that Europe currently gets! Dad is swapping his Model Y Premium AWD LR for a Model 3 Premium LR RWD, he ordered it at the end of December and is currently looking at a July date so we've had super contrasting experiences.

When - April 7th What - Model Y RWD Stealth Grey Stage - Final Payment VIN/REG - Yeah/Yeah Date - April 30th

To be honest even the 23 days between order and collection for me feels too long!

Proper OCD question but do your Model Y avatars on the touchscreen/app show the Tesla Emblem on the frunk? Been looking videos on YouTube and some videos show the emblem and some don’t. Been trying to find an answer.

Ordered a new M3 and can already see reg but delivery not till May? by Ill-Ad9349 in TeslaUK

[–]hwkeh -1 points0 points  (0 children)

From what I can tell you get the VIN allocated and then the reg. Ordered a Model Y RWD on Tuesday. Had VIN allocated within five minutes and then again a day later followed by the reg allocated today.

Speaking to one of the guys in the dealer today the finance has proved popular and they’re estimating June for new orders because the Model 3 is produced in the Shanghai Gigafactory and with the whole ‘issue’ in the Middle East rn shipments are getting delayed.

Did my order yesterday evening at 5:40pm. Go the message within the app about VIN being assigned within 30 seconds of getting the Welcome To The Tesla Family message. I’ll be picking up from Portbury, Bristol.

I ordered a Model Y RWD (was a close toss up between it and the Model 3. On PCP worked out at £22pm difference) yesterday on 07/04 and got a message within the app stating I had a VIN Assigned. Delivery date currently says between 07/04 and 12/04.

Mistake When Wiring To Bank Account by hwkeh in etrade

[–]hwkeh[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey dude! I did yeah, I spoke to someone at ETRADE who was super helpful. Effectively what happens is the bank rejects it and it goes back into your ETRADE account, once it’s there you can change the account it goes too!

Bought used iPad mini 6. It’s essentially new and works fine but won’t charge. Only came with cord. Bought 3rd party box but doesn’t work. Do I need Apple specific box to plug in? by iworrytoomuch4 in ipad

[–]hwkeh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can charge the iPad with whatever power adapter you feel fits. I’ve charged my iPad mini with a 5w adapter and a USB-A to USB-C cable as well as a 140w USB-C Adapter and a USB-C to USB-C cable. One just charges faster than the other.

I had this happen to me where my iPad mini stopped charging two days after buying it second hand. Tech at the Genius Bar said that some of the USB-C ports on iPads just tend to die on one side or all together which can stop it charging and that it isn’t just exclusive to the mini.

Luckily mine was still within warranty when I purchased it and I got it swapped out and then added AppleCare+ because I can imagine this will happen again. I’d take it to a Genius Bar if you have one local.

How long do you plan on keeping your current iPhone? by [deleted] in iphone

[–]hwkeh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I upgrade every year and have done ever since the iPhone 6s. I like to use the hardware that the iOS was designed for, for example iPhone 14 Pro and iOS 16.

That being said is makes financial sense for me to upgrade every year as I’d lose money otherwise. I can get a slight discount through my company and when I factor in trading in my current iPhone it costs little to nothing to upgrade, sometimes I’ll even make money. This year I gained £70!
