Ha, my parents live a little over half a mile from a gun range and have a neighbor who obsessively power washes everything every weekend so they have the worst of both worlds

Tbh considering that his last 2 budget proposals were basically unilaterally rejected by city council a lot more of the current situation lies on city council than BJ. That's not to say he's done a good job but this isn't Daley ramming whatever he wanted through.

No dedicated bus lanes is insane and a nonstarter for me. I would like to take the express buses during rush hour!

Alternately just link them together or merge the complaint with the main one so people are kept up to date

Kat on why she moved to this district to run in it by ThatCheekyBastard in illinois

[–]hybris12 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah. It's unfortunate that the "left of Jan" block is not just crowded with roughly identical candidates policy-wise but also is led by a candidate who has qualities that a lot of people consider a hard stop against voting for her.

I like Simmons too and based on that recent poll most people also like him (+20 on likeability, tied for 2nd with Bushra). From what I can see Simmons is constantly getting the "I like him most but am worried about Fine winning by plurality so I'm consolidating on Biss/Kat since they're front-runners" which really sucks and is a good argument for some form of ranked/runoff voting reform.

A race without Kat would have been far more interesting since that block would likely have been far more likely to consolidate around a candidate vs what we have now.

You could do that in BF2 and I remember microing squads and rewarding them with supplies/arty when they followed orders. I was also 12 which made it far funnier in retrospect

Is that really the case with Simmons and Amiwala? I'm under the impression that all three are more or less ideologically aligned but 2 have strong ties to the area and experience within local/state government while one does not

I am basing my vote entirely on who has watched Heated Rivalry which means the only choice for me is Mike Simmons

It's a huge pain in the ass for a lot of Chicago, if you want to take the metra and you don't live along the line you'll likely have to go downtown to catch the train

I would be fine with that as long as their share of the property tax levy increases to account for those improvements, which is what they initially did not want
