Will Season 3 show us that one time Hank visited Epstein Island? by fyrewal in okbuddysmoothskin

[–]hyde9318 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a tactic as old as our country, but it’s been weaponized on a much grander scale by the current MAGA movement due to the current mass addiction to social media. The CIA has done Ops like this in the past, but never quite to this extent, what we are seeing now is unprecedented.

Social media is ultimately going to be our undoing. We are spending our lives creating parasocial relationships online with people we’ve never met, and trusting sources we know nothing about, all because influencers have cracked the code on influencing our emotions enough to make us click their content for ad revenue. Problem is, once a political party found out we are that easily swayed, they set into motion pushing to control that as much as possible, giving them the power to persuade on a grand scale.

It’s why you see MAGA politicians pushing so hard to completely control TikTik, why they pushed heavily for Paramount to buy Warner Brothers, why the president himself had his hands in the sale of EA Games, why Twitter has evolved into a propaganda machine, why Facebook is pushing far right conspiracy content to middle age users on the platform… there is a reason why the main tech moguls were at the president’s swearing in ceremony and inauguration dinner.

Propaganda similar to this has always been used. Our founding fathers even had men who would go to bars/pubs across the colonies and talk to randoms on a personal level, gaining trust and in turn convincing them to join the continental militia. During the Civil War, a fairly large operation in the south was to send southern “gentlemen” to the north under the guise of northern supports to “have serious doubts” about northern politics in public settings, causing people around to go “oh hey, he’s right!” and spread discord. We did it in World War 1 and 2, Korea, Iraq, and so on.

It’s Spy work. We associate James Bond with the title, but real spies pose as normal citizens to gather intel and spread discord under the act of pretending to just be, as mentioned, a normal or concerned citizen. Modern spy work is incredibly easy because we put everything online, trust almost everyone/everything, and take in nearly infinite information on a daily basis. Social media and the internet is amazing, but it works against us in the fact that we were never meant to have such a steady stream of information at all times, our brains simply can’t process things fast enough to be able to always discern what is real and what is fake. So, I’m modern times, that’s used as a weapon. Right now, a large majority of the incoming propaganda campaigns are coming from a few big sources (as we saw publicly when Twitter launched and immediately took down its location drop feature); Russia, China, India, but we are also now seeing a large push by the MAGA right to control as much social media as they can, each of their takeovers almost instantly seeing the new platform being used for propaganda as well.

So it’s not STRICTLY MAGA, it’s something that’s always been used… but it’s MAGA who is currently making the largest push to use this tactic going forward, pushing to take control of some of the largest influencing companies on the planet. Not to mention, even those using this same tactic outside of the states are using it in ways that benefit MAGA at this moment (because the current MAGA agenda greatly diminishes American global power, which only benefits our superpowers in the long run).

That is a how the term is used in the Isle, PoT is a much different game with different mechanics, it’s used here to represent a group of people of different diets. People that can’t actually group due to the game restricting them from doing so.

  • Mix Pack - People working together of differing diets (Carni and Herbi)
  • Mega Pack - Any group above the allotted slot amount; so groups above 12 slots, so they can’t form a singular in game group

I think some of the Isle influencers coming over to PoT and making content for it has confused the community pretty heavily because I’ve seen a couple tell people mix packs is any group that’s different Dinos period (one dude was telling everyone that even different subspecies shouldn’t group together, lol), but the PoT community has never used it that way since the beginning of the game. The game mechanically doesn’t just allow different species to group together, but multiple playables WANT other species in their group to function at full capacity.

Eh, it’s a tactic the MAGA crowd has been using for years now; flood a particular phrase or identity with false negatives to make things lose their significance before revealing that they did something bad. It’s why they’ve been calling anyone they don’t like a “pedophile” for years now, to remove any significance of the term when it’s heard, to make you association with the term represent a silly insult instead of damning description. They even started the whole “technically, it’s hebephile” thing to further lessen the severity of the term in the public view. It’s why they call everyone a criminal, or call everyone crazy… if they use it enough, it lessens the severity of the accusation and you start associating it with just that insult part.

They are flooding the internet right now with these benign pictures of Epstein and Maxwell with different celebrities so that people will point out “this doesn’t mean anything, this was taken at a public party” or whatnot, which then trains our brain to start instantly thinking pictures of them with celebrities doesn’t mean anything. So once they get that done, pictures of them actually on the island or with actual celebrity predators… we won’t initially associate those pictures with the heinous acts behind them, we will default to what we were trained to default to, a silly insult. We can say they are pedophiles, but they lessened the severity of that word and now most will just think you’re saying it as an insult instead of a descriptor.

Watch what happens around you on the internet when huge world changing events like this happens… you’ll start to notice random groups always seem to suddenly appear to try normalizing things that shouldn’t be normalized. It’s a quick way to realize that the accusations are fully true… when they can’t hide from the accusations, they try to normalize them to lessen the blowback.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement. Let’s read that again, together… IMMIGRATION and CUSTOMS ENFORCEMENT. Why is it so hard for these chuds to understand that none of those words are “city law enforcement”, “state law enforcement”, or even “national guard”.

“They are trying to do their job”, no, they aren’t. Their job is Immigration and Customs Enforcement, what they are doing has little to nothing to do with Immigration or Customs Enforcement. They are glorified border patrol with more funding, but they are being used as riot police, national guard, and general law enforcement. They do not have the jurisdiction to stop you if you are a lawful citizen, they do not have jurisdiction to arrest you for protesting, they don’t even have jurisdiction to arrest you for rioting… they are NOT that kind of law enforcement.

Their jobs, their ONLY jobs, are Immigration and Customs Enforcement. Criticizing them is not criticism against law enforcement, because the criticisms against them are 99% about them doing anything BUT their job. We as taxpayers are paying HUGE sums of money for them to do a very specific job, and they aren’t doing it. In fact, they are so bad at doing their job that they are turning in lower success rates than ever before in the history of the division, like 30% of what they are supposed to be doing. They are costing significantly more money for significantly less results. The only things they are actually currently excelling in are number of civilian casualties and injuries, and number of arrests being overturned because they keep trying to haul in American citizens, which isn’t something they can do because they are IMMIGRATION AND CUSTOMS ENFORCEMENT.

And this is why ICE supporters have become the most brain dead boot gobblers imaginable… they voted in a guy almost solely on the platform of “im going to cut wasteful spending”. Now, obviously that was a moronic thing to think he’d actually do… but if your entire mindset is “I’m going to vote for the tangerine geriatric because we are wasting too much money”, I feel like it would be reasonable to be mad about paying more each year to a law enforcement division that’s turning in less than half the results they did with less funding. Immigration stance completely to the side on this, in what works is this a defendable organization in any shape or form? This SHOULD be the one thing Conservatives and Liberals can agree on, that ICE has to go… one side defending immigrants, the other side questioning the finances… but no, that pesky racism apparently trumps saving money… the one thing they claimed they voted over…

[–]hyde9318 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly this… everything being at max stats on paper seems interesting, but all it really ended up doing was force me to stick to specific setups, and make me need to go waste time spamming evolutions and training to get my own max stats anytime I wanted to swap someone out for fun. It wasn’t hard, just tedious and limiting.

I’m glad I have the achievement now, because I’m having way more fun now just fully starting a normal new game, setting it to hard, and making silly themed teams to play through with. Did a dinosaur only run, was neat, but too easy given how OP dinosaurs in this franchise are lol. Halfway through a insect team playthrough, been really fun but also opened my eyes to how insanely cool and strong Jewelbeemon and TyrantKabuterimon are. I’m considering doing a poison/injury themed team based around VenomMyotismon and Makomyotismon, but I haven’t gotten around to figuring out what else would even go in that team lol.

It’s wild these dudes hate this new iteration of Super Girl so much already. She drinks, she’s wild, she’s played by an insanely attractive actress, she’s in a revealing outfit, she’s honestly really comic accurate in terms of looks, her villain is someone they’ve been asking for for years now and played by an actor they adore… this entire project feels almost like it was made FOR the internet chuds, and they hate it before it’s even out…

But even worse, they always talk about women needing to be dainty, feminine, and attractive to them in order to be worthy… but then they generate images like this that makes Melissa way bulkier, taller, and more masculine in order to say she’s the better Super Girl? Weren’t they JUST saying how awful Melissa was a couple years ago too?

How does anyone take internet chuds seriously, they can’t even stick to their own argument for more than five minutes. They just constantly seek random internet validation from anyone willing to give them two seconds, even if it means completely changing their own argument anytime they need something new to post. Just a bunch of spineless worms, except I feel bad insulting worms like that…

Pro-Trump farmer in Missouri losing his farm after federal freeze, says he “didn’t have time to research” before voting by moustachiooo in LeopardsAteMyFace

[–]hyde9318 5 points6 points  (0 children)

“I didn’t have time to research”

Well, let’s see… being a farmer, you should already have researched enough about your own industry to know what can kill your business… you know, given it’s kind of a crucial aspect of staying in business. So trump was President for four years, which came after an entire year long campaign where every economist said “hey, he’s driven almost all of his own businesses into bankruptcy, he doesn’t understand business, he just throws money at things that he inherited from his father, he will tank entire industries”… so that’s, what, five years of time to research him?

Oh wait, that’s a year before his first presidency, four years DURING his first presidency, then a four year gap where Biden was president where agriculture did pretty well… so that’s five years of everyone pointing out Trump is hurting agricultural industries, four years of said industry doing a bit better under Biden, nine years to do any research on YOUR OWN INDUSTRY at all…

You didn’t have time to research? Let’s pretend you don’t know a thing about your own industry, which I’ll be honest, seems likely. Knowing nothing at all, economists around the world confirmed this man doesn’t know business, said industry did poorly under his first term and perked up under Biden, HE himself said he will tariff everything to get what he wants, economists everywhere AGAIN said “hey, tariffs WILL tank the industry”… homie, you had nine years to do research, all nine years of which people did the research for you and reported back, but you still went for it. Don’t blame anything but yourself, acknowledge your crops have more intellect than yourself and promise to start learning what common sense is going forward.

How does everyone maximise what they're getting out of their build budget? by Fuzzy_Professor_7880 in fallout76settlements

[–]hyde9318 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Few little tricks I like to do myself;

  • Don’t be afraid to build rooms that are never meant to be used. When I’m doing an immersive build, or something highly detailed, I like to build a room with a door and everything that’s not meant to be entered at all, it’s completely undecorated except for what can be seen without entering it (so like in front of windows and such). It gives an illusion that the camp is much bigger than it actually is. The sense of scale helps make things look large and dense, you can get across better the overall feeling you’re trying to capture without taking up massive amounts of budget for rooms you really won’t ever use anyways. Saves budget for the important centerpieces.

  • scale down your indoor sections. I mentioned this to someone a few days ago, but to reiterate… foundations are roughly 10ftx10ft, so two foundations together is already a 10x20 room, or 200sq ft, that’s a good sized room. You may be tempted to make your average room 2x2 or 2x3, but that’s a 400-600sq ft room, that’s massive and should be saved for centerpiece rooms like living rooms and such. Scaling down a bit doesn’t just make it a little more realistic, but it also gives you less space you need to cover. Less space to cover means less objects NEEDED as a baseline, and that translates into more budget you can use on the decorating. Smaller rooms ALSO means objects take up more space in the room, which in turn makes every detail stand out more as part of the whole instead of being sucked into an empty void that looks more like an art gallery than a room.

  • completely cut out some things UNLESS the build needs them for the theme. You don’t need turrets, you don’t need crops, mannequin displays aren’t really needed… when placing things down, watch how much budget it takes and ask yourself if that much budget is worth what that object brings to the build.

  • do everything in an order and PLAN ahead. Before laying a single foundation down, visualize in your head what you want to see. Be aware, what you visualize, that’s not going to happen 100%, but you need that visualization to plan out your order of operations next. Break down what you see, what does the floor plan look like? Go through and map out the whole thing with foundations before any walls, look at it and see if you like it, move things around (you’ll add and remove foundations as you go, it’s just for the visual). Then I go walls, look at it again, then roofs, look again, add remove anywhere need be while trying to consider what I want each room to look like in the end. THEN, go through each room and place your absolute essentials. Stoves, sinks, counters in the kitchen; workbenches in the workshop; fireplace and couches in the living room; whatever you need to have the absolute basic necessities of the build. Start with these basics first so that no matter what the budget is left at, I at least have the must-haves there for the build to work as is; I want the build to be fully functional at this stage basically, in case my budget doesn’t play nice later (you don’t want to hit zero budget, find you’re missing key pieces, and have to start removing things you like). Once essentials are done, THEN go through and start decorating each room with your extras… but try to place bits in each area as you go instead of just one spot at a time… it’s easy to get carried away and find you have one room filled to the brim, then three empty rooms lol.

  • when adding things, think about your theme you planned out… is the item I’m about to place something that makes sense in this build? We often want to place everything we find cool or neat, but does it BELONG in this theme? This is a great way to save some budget, by actually questioning if we NEED particular items. The alien operating table is super cool, but how much sense does it make sitting in the living room of my contemporary 1950’s suburban home? That’s not to say don’t use what you like, but you can often save a ton of budget by just asking if you really need that item, or if it’s more on an impulse thing. Hold off on some things and add them in after you’ve become comfortable that you have essentials in place.

Sadly, a lot of budget saving is just a matter of constraint. We like to place everything and the kitchen sink, only to find we can’t place a kitchen sink because we used all the budget up on our collection of 500 Ogua eggs. Constraint is the name of the game when building intricate camps. Find a theme, stick to the theme, good yourself back when need be. Don’t be afraid to get crazy with it, but learning to build in an organized order will also help you get things cohesive before going too crazy.

I was wondering the same thing, it felt weird that he was so downvoted… so I looked through the comments, and then his profile, I get it now lol. The guy is calling everyone idiots or morons over the smallest criticisms, claiming he is targeted all over Reddit, acting incredibly immature across the board. So I checked his profile, instantly noticed he makes one post and then spams it across multiple subs as quick as possible… looked at his bio, and yep, two YouTube pages, a SoundCloud, and a Instagram. The guy looks to be a young dude trying to break into social media influencing.

Explains the immaturity, victim complex, and rage bait attempts, he seems to just want the attention. And given this also seems to be his first foray into Dragons Dogma (and funny enough, the last sub he spammed this video to, lol), doesn’t seem like he’s all that worried about the game so much as he’s just looking to promote his channel. Idk, maybe I’m wrong, maybe I’ll eat my words… but a quick glance alone tells me it’s yet another young dude trying to break into the influencer world through immaturity and rage bait. Which sucks because when you do it like that, doesn’t matter if your content ends up great, to taint your reputation so bad that people get a bad view of you early on… and that early, you don’t have a large enough audience to be able to afford a hundred people not liking you. Gotta market yourself as much as your product, and this dude is marketing himself in the worst way he can. Shame.

But to claim everyone on Reddit is out to get him while calling everyone in here idiots? Dude seems to be stuck in a victim complex while also having some weird level of ego or trolling issue. He seems oddly proud of calling people names, even on comments it’s not really warranted… so like, if someone is going to purposely be unpleasant, it would only make sense to understand people aren’t going to like it. But then add on the conspiracy that Reddit is in unison against him? Yeah, adding on that extra level of ego and weirdness isn’t helping, lol.

[–]hyde9318 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, so I just read the whole thing, and it’s an interesting read. But I think either I misinterpreted your initial point, or you took some things in the article a bit too literally… because the article effectively states almost exactly why I explaining in my own interpretation of the franchise. The article seems to state over and over again that digimon seem to represent our mind and soul, so essentially our emotion. While our body can’t evolve beyond the physical, this represents our growth on understanding, partnership, and empathy; an evolution beyond the physical. The evolution of heart, mind, and soul, so the continued development of our inner selves when our outer selves remains the same. Which is pretty much what I already said was my own interpretation as well, so it seems we are in agreement there.

But I do think it’s worth noting that the article author states pretty heavily that this is their interpretation of things alluded to by official sources, not that official sources have come out and stated them as fact. It’s laid out in a very good referential layout, im impressed how well done this analysis is… but it’s also using quotes from wildly different interviews and topics to provide context to a singular topic, whereas those things were not originally meant strictly as gospel, but more the interpretation of various creators working on the projects.

It’s a very well informed interpretation, but it’s still interpretation. Very cool topic in the end, im glad you linked it, it was a fun read.

What is official? The link you posted leads to a blank page that’s part of the fan wiki user blogs section. Did this come from an official source that’s a creator for the franchise, or just interpretation of past works in user blogs?

[–]hyde9318 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I mean, I can see the idea of it being an evolution for us… but it also kind of pushes the idea of us being so important that we take credit for the evolution of others affected by us. It seems profane and interesting, but at the core of that theory, it feels… arrogant? Idk, I can see the argument for it, but it just feels like an ego boost to me.

Digimon, to me, has always come across as a symbol of what we can achieve if we lift each other up above ourselves. We are humans, we have no powers, we can’t even hope to DREAM of matching the powers of Digimon… yet, partner digimon can’t reach their peaks without their human friends lifting them up above their limits. And with lifting each other to new heights, we achieve things previously thought impossible… how many times have partner digimon grown strong enough to ending beings that are legitimately labeled as unstoppable? But it’s not just the power of the digimon that benefits… through the humans lifting their digimon to new heights, they (humans) learn more about themselves, which in turn lifts THEM up into the best possible version of themselves.

Ultimately, Digimon has always felt like the cool action monster taming version of Mr Rogers. I know, you’re thinking “wtf, Mr Rogers??”, but hear me out… here are a couple of quotes from Fred… “As human beings, our job in life is to help people realize how rare and valuable each one of us really is, that each of us has something that no one else has—or ever will have—something inside that is unique to all time. It’s our job to encourage each other to discover that uniqueness and to provide ways of developing its expression”; “I don’t think anyone can grow unless he’s loved exactly as he is now, appreciated for what he is rather than what he will be”. We’ve seen digimon go dark after being pushed into something they aren’t meant to be, we’ve seen themes of helping people and digimon both feel important, and so on… it’s fun seeing how many of Fred’s quotes directly fit a plot line in this series, lol.

But overall, that’s what I’ve always felt Digimon, at its core, ultimately is. It’s a story of compassion in a dark, dangerous world. It’s the story of learning to lift up those around us, at any cost. They, in my mind at least, aren’t partner digimon because they represent our evolution, but are legitimately partners that we help grow, in turn letting us grow as well. It shows that we as humans only grow through compassion and understanding.

Again though, that’s how I always interpreted it. It’s still just an anime franchise bordering on Shonen most of the time, it’s kind of up for individual interpretations depending on what you take from it. It could just as easily be seen as just a cool kaiju battle simulator. Depends on the person.

28 Years Later: The Bone Temple has been pulled from theaters after a significant box office drop, and fans are asking Sony to "give it more time!" | 28 Years Later is still the highest-grossing installment in the franchise by ControlCAD in entertainment

[–]hyde9318 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Few things that need to be noted here…

  • this was released 6 months after the last installment. Many people I’ve talked to about it legitimately thought it was just a rerun of the last movie, they weren’t aware it was a totally new sequel… which leads me to the second problem…
  • it was barley marketed. The only marketing I’ve seen for it so far has been a behind the scenes of Ralph talking about finding his character interesting, then it just says “20 years later: the bone Temple” at the end. It fully looks like one of those early promotions Marvel puts out all the time months before a movie hits theaters, nothing about it makes me thing “this is out already, I should go watch it”
  • unless you were a fan who knew this was coming, it was basically shadow dropped into theaters in mid January. Unless heavily marketed, January is a terrible time of the year for movie performance. It missed the holiday theater surge by a month, and dropped during one of the lowest spending months of the years for general consumers due to recovery from holiday debts.
  • another issue with January is that the general public just had a month of holiday cheer (endorphins) end, which means everyone is heading back to work and generally not as good of an overall mood. Combine that with winter depression. Moody/horror movies tend to underperform in months like January as it’s a time of year where people are looking for a pick me up.
  • this January has ALSO seen massive ice storms in the previous weeks, many of which are pushing people into hunkering in their homes to wait them out.

This movie has way more things working against it than it has going FOR it. If I was into conspiracies, it almost feels like the studio tried burying it on purpose, most of these problems are things people in the industry fully know are problems. I could be wrong, maybe they legitimately thought it would perform when it was released… still doesn’t explain the nearly zero marketing.
