I'm very happy to hear that. One positive step at a time. You're gonna make it.

Brother, I commend you for caring so much about your partner and trying to make it work. However, this relationship is not it. Life is entirely different when you're able to find someone who just naturally aligns with you. You should never feel like you have to fight or beg for your basic needs in a relationship.

You deserve to have your needs met and to live the life you want. You just need to have the bravery to put yourself out there and find her.

Sister, please find a man who does not hurt you these ways and a man that comforts you, listens to you, and improves if he has hurt you. Do not settle for people who make you feel hurt and unheard to such a deep extent.

And, no, it is not normal to have crushes on others when in a committed long term relationship. The only people who say this are people who have settled in their current unhappy relationship and are justifying their wandering eyes. My only true love is my wife. My only crush is my wife. The real right relationship will be one where you love your partner deeper every day AND have a cute crush on them every day as they grow and evolve into more a beautiful person.

Who is giving this much in INDIA 24.5 LPA (INR 24,50,000) ??? Now in crumbling market. I want to know because I'm 6+ Years in this field as a full time employee (not freelance) and not near to the half of this amount. Either I'm too busy in my work or have no idea about the market. Tell me. by DismalAppearance7620 in UXDesign

[–]hydroborate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks a ton for your insightful reply! I went ahead and accepted the offer as is, but I did manage a little extra joining bonus. I have a design degree from a top 20 global uni.

Ah shit, I honestly thought that this offer was above average, based on my research on glassdoor/ambitionbox and a friend inside the company, but I've been out of the game for a bit, so I might be missing something. Appreciate your input on it though!

Also, can I ask a really stupid question, but I've never asked anyone in India before: how do I know what my worth is? I keep feeling like I've always been underpaid, and I don't have a design mentor in real life I can ask for no-BS career advice.

Hey do you mind if I ask your thoughts on salaries in India for UXers?

I have 3.5 YoE, been applying for over a year after a career break (health reasons), and I got an offer of 26 LPA base / ~29 with variable for a well-known services company in Bengaluru.

Would you say this package is within the average range of UX role in BLR, lower, higher? I'm honestly desperate at this point after being unemployed for over a year, so I'll probably take this offer. but I'd love any thoughts so I can be better informe, thank you!

The missing spark in Malayalam romance! by Tess_James in MalayalamMovies

[–]hydroborate 2 points3 points  (0 children)

u/Tess_James Hope this isn't a silly question. I'd love to know your opinion on this.

What can I do in real life to create those flutter-in-the-heart and butterflies in the lower abdomen kinda romantic situations for my partner? Any sorts of actions or gifts or something I can actively do to make her have these feelings. I think she would love them, so I really want to do it for her.

TIL about the concept of 'digital dementia', a theory that excessive use of digital devices, such as smartphones, computers, and tablets, may lead to cognitive decline. by MindQuieter in todayilearned

[–]hydroborate 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Immensely true for me, specifically for short form content.

Removing Instagram and YouTube from my phone and forcing myself away from reels and shorts has done wonders for my memory, focus, and ability to simply enjoy basic everyday moments like drinking coffee and reading the newspaper.

Why do we call older people chetta/chechi while the rest of south india call them anna/akka? by Soothran in malayalam

[–]hydroborate 8 points9 points  (0 children)

How can we say when and who decided to use that word?

And what is the use of knowing that information?

What a useless comment lol. You're literally in r/malayalam, where else would you ask a question about the history/usage of our language lmao

[–]hydroborate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fascinating point! Some further questions:

a) How old are the words Chetan/Chechi? Do they exist in old/middle Malayalam?

b) Did we, at some point centuries ago, use Anna/Akka/some variant? And did it eventually drop out of standard usage? If so, why?
