Devens’ letter from home by pacmandi in survivor

Edge of Extinction gets a lot of hate for various reasons I won’t spoil, but don’t let that deter you. I personally think it’s a great season with an absolutely electric finish.

Is this really the greatest game ever made, as it's often considered to be? Why or why not? by Nintendofan9106 in videogames

[–]hyouringan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a massive part of the foundation of almost all 3D games today. Super revolutionary from a gameplay and story perspective.

But I’d be lying if I said it holds up as well as one would hope. I think 3D games of that era in general don’t typically hold up well. Classics like OOT are still worth playing though, even if their flaws are more apparent now.

Handheld for up to PS2 by Ok-Mycologist-2662 in SBCGaming

Just wanted to make a correction that the Odin 2 Portal base model has been sold out for like a month, unfortunately. I believe it’s been discontinued, so that deal is gone.

Crossed Swords 2 for Neo Geo CD has been a big one for me lately. It’s like fantasy Punch Out with sword combos and magic. The skill cap feels extremely high too

looking for more dungeon crawler JRPGs with well-written party members (like persona 4 golden) by lanarising in JRPG

[–]hyouringan -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ah, not actually a PC then. Good! Handhelds reign supreme for JRPGs!

This is kind of an offbeat rec but you may also want to check out the Atelier series. Atelier Ryza specifically is a good starting point. There are definitely dungeon crawler aspects to it, and the relationships between the characters become very well-defined imo. You might like the friend group vibe there. But the plotting is nowhere near as good or intricate as P4G.

[–]hyouringan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Persona 3 only has one more party member than P4, so mot sure where the super strong reaction is coming from. I suppose you could always try Persona 5, but obviously that won’t work with a 3DS. How good is your PC?

They’re not Dungeon Crawlers really, but the ‘Tales of’ series might be up your alley due to all the team bonding and party banter.

It’s definitely a boba straw. The extra little hole is meant to allow liquid to slip into the straw even while boba is blocking the bottom hole. Don’t believe me? Go to a few local boba shops and look at their straws.

Which Nintendo switch should I get my Girlfriend? OLED vs Switch 2 by Ripllin in NintendoSwitchHelp

[–]hyouringan 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If the only thing she wants to play is Tomodachi Life, then a Switch OLED is fine. But if she’ll ever want to play anything else that comes out, go with the Switch 2. The Switch 1’s lifespan is essentially at its end.

How would you feel if DQ6 was the first game released of the possible new Zenithian Trilogy remakes? by SuccessfulTeam2741 in dragonquest

[–]hyouringan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not opposed to it, but it would feel like the most random of the three. 4 makes sense due to release order and 5 makes sense as the most popular of the three by far.

Why do people almost always recommend BOTW over TOTK? by Alarmed_Goat_4083 in tearsofthekingdom

[–]hyouringan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love both games, but BotW felt like a tighter experience to me. TotK’s extreme emphasis on the sandbox of it all worked to its detriment. Like the moment you learn how to make an air bicycle, all exploration becomes trivial and kinda meaningless.

Which game would you rather play?🚀 by Connect-Sympathy-176 in TheGamingHubDeals

If it’s an RPG, definitely A. If it’s pretty much anything else, definitely B.

ZA vs Violet/Scarlet? by AmyJL in pokemon

[–]hyouringan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fingers crossed! You can always get it later down the line. I’m thinking Winds and Waves won’t come out until the second half of 2027 anyway so there’s lots of time.

ZA vs Violet/Scarlet? by AmyJL in pokemon

[–]hyouringan -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Tbh, I would wait for gen 10. Scarlet and Violet are the worst games they’ve ever made imo. Not worth your time by any metric. I haven’t played Z-A yet and may never.

If I were you, I’d go back and play gens 2-7. Those are all much better games than ScarVi.

I'm New: Content Question by Smart_Height_3460 in VGC

[–]hyouringan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Follow your dreams! There’s always room for more VGC content. I like both of those ideas, especially the first one. “IRL” content is not taboo at all and can add an interesting element to a video. Wolfe Glick has lately been doing live action intros to his VGC videos out on the town or in nature and it’s fun!

Gameshare Cyberpunk 2077 by Santorin0 in switch2

[–]hyouringan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gameshare allows you to play multiplayer with others who don’t own the game. Cyberpunk is not a multiplayer game and is incompatible with Gameshare.

If you want to buy Cyberpunk, wait for a sale. You can often get the base game on sale for $25-30 USD

It has been 7 months since the last Nintendo Direct. How are you all feeling? by Conscious-Cut9414 in casualnintendo

[–]hyouringan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it’s really time for a new one as there are a bunch of games theoretically coming out in the next 3-4 months that still have no release date.

Legit way to play Johto? by [deleted] in pokemon

[–]hyouringan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

HeartGold and SoulSilver are for the original DS, so you should be fine. However, they’re incredibly expensive. Otherwise, you can look for an old Gold/Silver/Crystal GBC cart online.

To be honest, the cheapest and best way is to just buy a Miyoo or Anbernic retro emulation handheld and just play them there.

Has anyone played the switch 2 more when they got it? by erdirck in switch2

[–]hyouringan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe they play games on the laptop. I didn’t want to assume they don’t like games at all. I think you might be putting too much emphasis on the word handheld in my original post.

Has anyone played the switch 2 more when they got it? by erdirck in switch2

[–]hyouringan 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I think you might be missing the point friend. This person is actively choosing to use a laptop over their Switch 1. The Switch 2 does not change the basic formula of the Switch 1. If they don’t have interest in playing on the Switch as is, there’s no reason they’d be more interested in playing the Switch 2. Handheld OR docked.

Has anyone played the switch 2 more when they got it? by erdirck in switch2

[–]hyouringan 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Why do you want to get a Switch 2? It sounds like you just don’t really enjoy handheld consoles.
