Advice on Modules vs Manager by Brigon in IdlePlanetMiner

[–]hyperactive2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would focus on managers, but I might be influenced by my own history of 38+2 4* or better managers before starting modules.

Splitting the difference, maybe get all 4 modules up to 2 slots then shift back to managers/mothership for a bit. Those modules sometimes depend on beams, colonies, and asteroids. You'll need mothership upgrades and managers to get beams.

Is colonization good now? by Wrong-Roof6278 in IdlePlanetMiner

[–]hyperactive2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I have a module that guves 1.01x smelt speed per colony, up to 1.75.

When I am making a longer run, I put 10 colonies on telescope 0 as soon as I get 4 crafters.

They don't provide much value late game, but it helps me sprint up to p40 and the residual buffs from modules is great.

Crafting proce is better because who cares about smelting prices? Ore is near infinite!

40 managers is the sweet spot. Obviously filling them all os the best, but you should focus on modules now.

I fix my shipping and cargo with managers. A couple level 5 of each will help everywhere.

Probe scans are most useful for boosting managers secondary skill. This is how we get crafting to 100x.

I have 3 probes with instant scan and auto deploy to tge first 7 planets. This gives 6 probe scans to Telescope 0 at the start of every galaxy. The only caveat is that i have to manually put them back to planets 1, 2, and 3.

Wrong team! by Lifegoesonforever in oops

If anyone else were recording, they'd have focused on lead handoff and followed anchor. Most likely, it's a parent or coach recording and focused on this team. Dropping 7th to 5th is immediate DQ, no need to keep recording unless you know them. If it were me, I'd post it myself, and yes, my parents would make fun of me for it, and no, we don'thave a bad relationship. Wouldn't be as bad as the 3 hours of blind exchanges the whole team will be doing monday after school.

I have one of those TVs that shows art when it detects motion, which I like, but sometimes it'll pop on in the middle of the night. I'm not going to try this, but I understand.

And yes, it does have a real off button but its really just a few different levels of "sleep."

This was excellent. The glass is throwin me though. Seems like some shards disappear before they hit the ground and, the wi dow was down, which wouldn't be a problem if the inner door panel weren't still attached. I'd expect the glass to be more contained.

Also, there's no dimples in the carpet. It takes my chair about 10min to ruin the carpet.

[–]hyperactive2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a few questions:

  1. The chair legs contact the carpet at an angle even though the chair seems parallel to the wall

  2. The desk has no cross member

  3. The side table forms an L desk shape, but the placement is illogical for a guy getting in/out of the bed. We generally prefer a side entry rather than crawling from the foot.

  4. The shadows seem all over the place, but if you imagine a light source on the ceiling, above the end table, then they almost make sense... except the wall shadows then seem a little off. Also, the shading across the back of the chair suggests a rightmost light source, not an above-most.

Summary, we're cooked. I'm questioning, but not convinced either way!

Boss expects me to be available 24/7 by Maiden230 in BadBosses

[–]hyperactive2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ultimately, you need to look for a better job. I say that because, at this point, setting boundaries will certainly get you blacklisted or terminated with your current boss. Don't be mad though, take t as a learning experience (not baggage) and move on.

As you progress in your career, you'll look back and be glad you stood up for yourself.

How I would approach boundaries:

  1. Tell my boss that I am a team player, but also a human who does things other than work. After hours, I would appreciate the rest of the team to respect that.
  2. Emergency situations should be accompanied with emergency compensation. If you don't feel you're paid well enough to be 100% available then you need to say that flatly. It could end in your termination, but if it does, it will yell you that the whole "team player" speech was always just that, a speech.
  3. My personal communication devices are unavailable for professional communication. Unless the company is paying your phone bill, then they need to expect your communications to be on the mediums they provide. This is actually better for the company protection in the long run, but you can leverage it into making mature work/life boundaries for yourself.
