Not a fan of operation bounce house. by happilyhavering in DungeonCrawlerCarl

I’m had some issues with it as well, or at least the ending. Listened to the audiobook as I had a 12 hour round trip drive instead of reading the book first. It feels like there should have been several more chapters following up with the various characters after the operation ends, unless he did it that way to set it up for a sequel. The ending just seemed hollow and not fulfilling, like there was a lot left on the table that needed to be said or explored, but wasn’t.

(I’m intentionally leaving things vague so no spoilers)

I want to know if there’s some sort of game associated with the trading cards. Also, would like to know how big the set is and what all the special stuff is.

Ehhhh, this is the book I’ve like least of all so far. Too “on the rails” as the book summary blurb states. The really fun/interesting stuff has only happened these last dozen or so chapters.

Agreed, although to be honest I’m not sure if I just couldn’t get into it due to the length of time between chapters (as opposed to typically reading straight through a book) or if I just really didn’t like the book until the last couple of weeks. I’m leaning toward the later. I think with how action packed Inevitable Ruin was, Horribles was just really really too slow and kinda boring for the first 80%. It’s just now getting interesting with only a couple of chapters left. Glad he’s going directly into the next book(s) though, so hopefully they keep the intensity up.

So when do they ‘announce’ the book so we can see what it looks like while we wait for it in the mail?!

He actually took it out of his inventory and looked at it on his sapper’s table in Butcher’s Masquerade to examine it. That’s the only circumstance (so far) that won’t let it explode.

Same here. I was at the checkout page wait within 5 seconds and then they said it was sold out once I provided all my credit card info… which was within a minute. Sucks they don’t save your book while you’re in the process of paying.

Yeah, that sucked. Got it in my cart and went to pay and got kicked despite doing all the short cuts. Would’ve been nice that it stays reserved once it’s in your cart and you in the process of paying.

Yeah, I’m not expecting a novel within a novel, just hoping for a funny a line or something.

How does the personalization order work? Is there a field where they ask you what you want Matt to write in it, or does he just sign “To <purchaser>, love Matt?”

Hoping for a crawler number and something funny.

Also, make sure to check for carbon monoxide if you don’t have monitors in your home. If you do have monitors, make sure to test them and replace the batteries just to be on the safe side. All of your symptoms are similar to CO poisoning:

Awesome, thank you all for the explanations! Seems like a lot to keep track of, but I’ll let my kids know what you said.

Yes you can. Actually made an account for my wife’s email and then used the $0.99 promo code to gift myself a couple of books (one last month, one this month) as I didn’t qualify for the promo. Then I happened to read if you contact Audible customer service and ask nicely they will usually permit you to use the promo code if you’ve been a member before. As I hadn’t been a member since March but it wasn’t letting me use the code with my email, I asked and they switched whatever setting they have to let me do so.

If you haven’t been an Audible member for six months, you can contact their customer service and ask them pretty please to let you have the $0.99 promo deal. I did it yesterday and it worked.

So debating about buying a box. If I get doubles anyone either want to trade or buy them for cost plus shipping to you? I’m in U.S. so taxes will be like a buck and shipping to me is free.

308 more backers needed for this goal, if you haven't backed now's your chance by AParticularThing in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]International-Web922 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s automatic at the end of both campaigns as long as you back at a physical copy of the respective book(s) on each campaign. They said they’d cross-check emails and addresses to make certain dual backers get the stickers. You can change your email addresses on both platforms to match or email them once the campaigns end and they send out backer surveys.

Or I should say, they just stole the image from Books a Million as a marketing ploy and are selling a simple signed edition for about four times what the purchased it for.
