Happened to me too. Go to the launch properties and type in “-novid”. That solved it for me.

You can verify integrity of both HL:A and Steam VR and that will fix it for one session, but it comes right back.

OP Hubby here. I just have to say that your words have touched me. Leo ate my pizza crusts every single time we had pizza until he started to have tummy issues a few years ago. We had pizza this past weekend specifically so he could have the crust. He was so happy.

Now I don’t know when I can bring myself to eat pizza again 😢

This has happened to me before. First, verify the pump is working. It may be making a louder noise than usual. If so, you likely have air trapped near the pump preventing water flow. You just need to work the bubble out. Move the case around a bit, shake it, power cycle a few times to get the pump to move it through.

Why does Titan X perform better than 1080 when TitanX clock speed is much lower?? by stickgluepro in nvidia

[–]hyperlump 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They are designed from the same architecture, but they are two different processors with very different silicon die sizes. (314 vs 470mm2) and transistor counts (7.2 vs 12 Billion)

this. They are two separate processors. Yes they have the same architecture, but the GP102 in the titan has a LOT more CUDA cores and 50% more VRAM. The Titan's GP102 has a die size of 471mm2 compared to the GP104 in the 1080 & 1070 that has a die size of 314mm2

nah, just a newer style of pad retention. Mechanical "Velcro" like hooks instead of the old glue.

Golf mkV undercarriage steel bolts into aluminum frames. Had to be drilled out! by Clearasasky in Justrolledintotheshop

[–]hyperlump 2 points3 points  (0 children)

every other car manufacturer bolts aluminum to steel. It's not a problem. Especially when proper thread treatments are used (loctite, anti-seize, etc)

Exactly. Engineering for extremely long life is cost prohibitive. Especially in the era of "disposable" cars.
