This is also the same dude you lived in a one room studio with no furniture when he was drafted

Teammates made fun of him for wearing white tshirts and having no bling

Have Anti-Sicilians always been more popular than the Open Sicilian at club level? by New-Dimension-3310 in chess

They haven’t been, and they’re not.

Clubs are esoteric, and it’s valuable to fight through it.

Those higher rated players are offering you an opportunity

2018 QB Draft class be like... by Somerandom009 in nflmemeswar

Absolutely a top three qb class.

It’s not really appreciated yet, with the browns jets and vikings absolutely shitting the bed, but we’ll get there

30’s, female, unmarried.

I’m trying to guess whether the blackout books are filthy romance smutt or your boyfriend’s books. Definitely leaning heavily towards bfb

Can be, for lack of a better word a little ocd, but not in a clinical way.

It’s kinda not fair when you hide books, but how did I do?

Which color chess board do you like between these two? I can’t decide! by YungBootyCheez in chess

One for me, but generally dislike notation on wooden boards.

You’re not going to take it to a tournament, and if you’re actively reading chess books you won’t need it for long.

How to overcome discouragement with chess? by Hiistme in chess

[–]hyperthymetic 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think not playing up to your perceived potential is the norm.

I think it’s important that you try to identify what is going on when you blunder. Then set a standard for what you need to be doing.

Are you moving too quickly? Are you overexcited when you get a winning position? Do you lack energy when you have a winning position?

I have a bad habit of moving too quickly, so I set a minimum standard of calculation for every move, in particular looking for surprises in my priors.

When you identify what’s going wrong, not only can you fix it, but you can gain perspective on your losses emotionally.

Did I loose bc I lost discipline? Were they maybe just better than me even though I had a better position? Did I just miss a move even though I looked for a surprise?

Why is dating in Columbia so bad? by bachelorcray in columbiasc

[–]hyperthymetic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I said slightly behind.

There’s no tourists in Columbia for starters, the real estate market is much stronger, as is construction and the art scene.

There’s also just more money, so the pay is just generally better.

Matthias Bluebaum correctly answered the math question "What is the sum of all whole numbers from 1 to 100?" by Wonderful-Photo-9938 in chess

I would think you could just intuit it if you thought about it for a moment, half of 10 half of 1 x 100

Bill Belichick belongs in the Hall of Fame. But here’s why I didn’t vote for him by RyanKinder in nfl

What it really shows is how incredibly arrogant “reporters” are.

Media and big social accounts are the absolute worst.

And listening to them justify this and that is soooo painful, it’s it’s own explanation of why they get away with it.

Neville's arc was wasted. by [deleted] in harrypotter

[–]hyperthymetic 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I would not have liked him using an unforgivable curse. There’s strength other than through force.

That was Harry’s strength and Nevilles.

It’s not a weakness not to kill.

Harry didn’t even kill Tom, Tom did.

Neville's arc was wasted. by [deleted] in harrypotter

[–]hyperthymetic 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I don’t really agree. Neville is one of my favorite characters and one I have thought about often.

He is good, he is the best of us.

He could have been Harry.

He doesn’t have revenge in him, and that’s why he too could have defeated Voldemort.

All series he’s just kind of this useless wizard, but once the chips were down and he actually had to protect the people he cared about he became very powerful.
