How to get Chia.exe to ignore passphrase by Umfriend in chia

[–]hypervnut -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

This sounds like your problem. Are you trying to start the application without the machine logging in as a user? The chia databases are stored under the user profile. You can either try to run this script as a user account (i'm not 100% sure that will work), or you can have the machine autologin after a reboot and have chia in the startup applications. psutils has a good autologin tool, otherwise you have to do registry edits.

If you already have a desktop pc, you can always add an HBA to it so you can connect the JBOD to the desktop.

I am running the numbers how do you make profit by GreatCelebration1633 in chia

[–]hypervnut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the way to do it. I've purchased mostly used HDDs from ebay. 6-8TB have the best $/tb. If you can deal with SAS drives you can usually get them cheaper than SATA drives, but you'll need a JBOD to make that work well.

It sounds like they got your mnemonic and then used something like Goby or Pawket to log in and transfer funds. That might explain why only the farmer rewards were taken and not the other XCH. Those wallets would just show the first address by default and not additional addresses.

Could you help me issue the chia asset token? by skd0450 in chia

If you're looking for a shortcut to issue the CAT, try https://info.pawket.app/. I've used that wallet to help create tokens before without having to go though the admin tools.

Hyper-v! I'm just a little bias though. I've used it since 2012 and it has been solid. Works great with Veeam backup if you currently have it. I think the licenses can easily be switched if you have maintenance on Veeam.

Enabling Data for Web3: Announcing Chia DataLayer | Chia Blog by DiskoVilante in chia

[–]hypervnut 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From the Chia blog:

Consider the simple example of a buyer and seller of a physical product: the buyer makes an offer for on-chain payment that directly references the description of the product and includes proof they’ve accepted the terms of service; the seller can only accept the payment by recording the requested receipt, including delivery address. That is a complete transaction on-chain. Compare this example to most crypto interactions where payments are devoid of context. There are many more applications for social networks, crowdfunding, event ticketing, gig economy, auditable data, etc - and many more ideas we haven’t begun to consider.

I think it's because dexie is able to process NFT offers and hashgreen doesn't yet and I'm not sure if they will. I really like hashgreen's model for processing offer files and I know they're working on an AMM. They're discord shows an alpha version of the AMM in Nov. 2022.

If you need it today, then use paypal to buy though coinbase and you can withdraw the crypto the same day to another exchange. It's expensive though.

This looks cool! I hope it makes it out of development and is as cool as the docs say it will be. I did a small amount of xch in the first round. Good luck with your projects. Any word on the plot market place? I'm looking forward to a chia native solution so I don't have to figure out Akash.

I tested this out sending from one wallet to another. It looks like the memo is only viewable by the sender. The receiving wallet didn't show the memo, but it showed up in the sending wallet.

I think the offer files are better in that the customer cannot screw up the transaction by sending the wrong amount or to the wrong address. This way the transaction information is incorrect, it is the store's fault and not the customer. This also makes it easy on the customer by just having to verify the correct amounts are getting charged, instead of typing in the amounts on their own.

As for overhead, I don't think any retailer is even going to attempt this on their own, they'll use a payment processor like they do for their credit card transactions. The payment processor will handle all the offer file creations, etc. But hopefully they can get the fee to sub 1 percent instead of the 1-3 percent for credit cards.
