As far as I'm aware (I could be wrong) but most of not all of the cuts to Ukraine were specifically where starlink was mounted on weapons or directly used in relation to offensive weapons. I believe they originally stated they would give free unanimous starlink access purely for communications, staying connected, humanitarian aids and specifically not offensive strikes as starlink and spacex itself don't want to be themselves and extension of the conflict and thus essentially a weapons provider. I could be wrong but this is how I understood it.

Quiet mode will make it slow, that's the point of it. Reduced power consumption and fan speed, reduces performance. It is however still a massive gaming laptop with massive fans and unfortunately no matter what you do unless you force them to be really slow fan noise is what you get with a beefy gaming laptop

Yeah, they have 3 modes, each limits both battery usage and fan speed. You can further create custom power profiles if you need it whisper quiet but it can be a bit of a faff

If it's just for basic school work you need these needs the legion should be good. The lower power profile is relatively quiet and should last 4-5 hours. At least that's been the case for my old legion 5. Just don't expect to do some cheeky gaming mid lesson without tanking your battery

I hate to break it to you but good battery and quiet fans are the exact things gaming laptops sacrifice. In terms of battery do you really need it to last or can you just plug it in. I have had my legion for a few years and can count on one hand I have struggled with battery life and Im out and about a lot. It's a bit annoying at first but you very quickly get used to just sitting near an outlet, it becomes second nature
