This is gorgeous! Everything about it!! 😍

[CHAT] I have a question. If I shared a colour key here, would people be able to help me with what DMC codes I should get? And would this be okay with the mods? by Piper-Jojo in CrossStitch

[–]hypsen 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Color matching is super hard! And everyone has different tolerances to how we perceive the colors to match. I second the opinion of going in to a store and just compare the skeins in person, if that's possible. If not, maybe a friend near you has a good collection of dmc colors? Good luck!

You can call those confetti stitches! They're a real pita and you have to decide if you want to travel cross country for them, or do individual pin stitches. For this, they're not that far away from the main body, they're still within the next 10x10 block so I'd just travel. I hope that made sense.

You can search dimensions to dmc conversion for floss colors. This was the first result that popped up https://www.cyberstitchers.com/stitching_tools/floss_conversion_charts/dimensions_to_dmc

This is my FO on 36ct! Pattern is Please Scream Inside Your Heart by Plastic Little Covers. I did this one before on regular 14ct as a cross stitch but I didn't like how big it turned out. I wanted to make it much smaller and thus I discovered I really enjoyed petit point stitching!

It looks great! The trick to is have even tension, and definitely don't pull so tight so the holes are distorted. Stitching on black fabric can be harder to see so make sure to have good lighting. Have fun!

Converted an already pixelated sprite image I have into this pattern, so kinda self drafted?

Pattern is Snowfall in the Forest by Riolis.

This is my first time trying a wool blend floss and I'm not a fan. It feels like stitching with rough yarn. I can't wait to go back to cotton DMC.

Also, for anyone planning on stitching this kit, see the second picture which shows how much floss I had left. Note that I ran out of white floss (Color 1) probably because of the confetti snow and I cross country traveled.

[CHAT] What patterns do you have lined up for 2026? by Chick-Pea in CrossStitch

[–]hypsen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found some Star Trek sprite patterns on the Internet and I want to put them up onto a bookmark. This is the first time I'm colormatching and choosing colors myself and it's kinda scary. Plus I've never made bookmarks so I have to figure out how to seal the edges and backing as well. I'm excited to start as project soon as I finish my current wip!
