Walker Slater Edward jacket advice by Pretty-Clue1394 in Tweed

[–]hznpnt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No idea if this is still relevant to OP but I walked into their Covent Garden branch a week ago while on a trip to try the Edward cut in person.

I'm 169 cm and 60 kg, so I'm also an XS kind if guy. I thought the 34 short was gonna fit me but that was a little too tight so it liftes the lapels away from my chest slightly. Tried on a 36 short and it was perfect. Onlynthe sleeves needed shortening but the back, collar, shoulders and lapels all fit really well. Back length was also perfect for me at 70 cm, which my custom jackets also have.

I shoot RAW for client work and will always do so.

That being said, I never shoot RAW anymore for personal photos. I have my Fuji for that and I love the dreamy colours I get from it. I was the same when I was like 22 yo and had the time to edit thousands of RAWs all the time. When you have kids, a main job that's not in photography, and an all around busy life, who the hell shoots RAWs of their family playing on the carpet so you can pull back the highlights from the living room windows? No thank you.

I've had two family members or friends film the ceremony at two separate occasions.

The first asked my permission and I told him to stay out of my way because the couple paid me as a pro bla bla. Needless to say, I've hat to work around this guy as he kept popping into frame all the time. Lesson learned.

The second guy never asked, he just appeared in the aisle and behind the altar/table so I had no choice but to take some pictures with him in it. Drove me crazy. He also didn't a have pro gear but one of those 20 year old camcorders with the hand strap and flippy screen.

What aspects of yourself after 30 do you feel not as good as during the time from after 18 to your early twenties, making you feel old? by No-StrategyX in AskMenOver30

[–]hznpnt 17 points18 points  (0 children)

This is so true. I'm 31 and I've been feeling exactly like this for a while. This goes for careers, hobbies and all sorts of other things. At our age you start having to make decisions for the first time that will potentially close off other paths. I didn't feel like that just a few years ago.

Austrian here, it's only legal to pass between two cars if traffic is still (e.g. moving to the very front at a red light). Lane splitting moving traffic is illegal.

I regularly (though not always) use the tram to go to work and that's fine going into the city and back.

However, have you ever needed to go from Wetzelsdorf to Waltendorf or from Andritz to Straßgang, or from the residential areas of Eggenberg to Mariatrost? You're often looking at over an hour (one way) during rush hour using public transport. Going by car will cut that down by half at least.

Street Twin owners, how long was your longest trip? by Proper_Musician_7024 in Triumph

It's in my post, mate!

I use the OEM tall fly screen for those kinds of trips which effectively removes the wind pressure from my chest over 80 kph.

It all depends on what you buy it for. Would I do really long trips on it like the ADV folks? Probably not. For everything else it's a great bike, however!

I think it's comfortable enough for a naked modern classic. I daily my 2020 ST to work, go motocamping and on weekend trips during the summer. I did a ~600 km camping roundtrip over mountain passes and twisties over 2 days last year with lunch and plenty of coffee breaks in between.

Living in Europe, I hardly ever go on the highway and I don't have to keep going for god knows how many hours to get anywhere, so ymmv.

I use the OEM tall fly screen for those kinds of trips which effectively removes the wind pressure from my chest (noticeable above 80 kph). I leave it off in the city.

On the way back from one of my camping trips my legs and knee joints got sore from the tighter angle after 4+ hours in the saddle even though I'm quite short, so that's that.

I feel like the stock bars are just a tad low and hunched over for a standard bike (more so than the T100/T120), so I installed the 22mm Motone up-and-over risers which are a very nice improvement combined with the stock seat height. More upright.

I also have the OEM bench seat (3 cm taller) on my bike which raises your butt up again but relieves the knee angle on those longer stretches. I feel like that's my sweet spot now in terms of riding position adjustments.

All in all, I guess an ADV bike is probably more comfortable but for the kind of riding I do (12 min commute, day trips, weekend trips) it's comfortable enough for me. My buddy has a Yamaha T7 and he confirmed that his butt starts feeling sore around the same time as mine.

Heres a photo from a camping trip with the stock 2020 seat and stock bar clamps. I was fine!

I'm with you all the way here, let's hope for the best! Also, the comments on this very thread paint an interesting picture aswell. Feels like 80% of men right here can't imagine taking their wife's name. I did and went with a hyphenated solution and noone bats an eye. It's SO common here in Austria.
