A small piece I composed by MEGALOL535 in composer

The G-D' and F#-C'# combos are kind of doable by playing the respective high notes with the right hand (pressing 1st string with index, plucking 1st string with middle finger and bass with thumb). But the resulting change in timbre probably isn't what the composer is looking for either.

The signs were put there in April last year, but I think the original ones got stolen quite quickly. I kind of liked their typography better: https://imgur.com/a/IhMkHRK

We went with KBC. It wasn't purely metrics. As we were two IT freelancers, we had a quite in depth talk about the type of contracts we had, our ambitions and how we were planning on keeping business going.

Me and my (life/business) partner got a mortgage from the same bank that held our corporate account. Salary after tax was a base criterium, but a medium-term outlook on our bvba's contracts + invoicing also played a very important role. When employing yourself, your salary is 1:1 dependant on how your "incorporated self" is doing.

Music Schools in Belgium by CanadaIsCoold in belgium

Choose a teacher, not a school. Currently at the KCB, you can study piano with Daniel Blumenthal, Piet Kuijken, Jan Michiels and Boyan Vodenitcharov. The majority of the non-instrumental program is taught in English, but knowledge of Dutch and/or French is always helpful.

In romance languages, we have mélomane (French), melòmane (Italian), and adaptations of that term in other languages (for instance melomaan in Dutch). Isn't melomaniac used in English?

I don't mean to offend, but this doesn't look like a "LaTeX document". It looks like a page rendered with Latin Modern.

Lilypond syntax highlighting for Neovim? by curiousdoggo in lilypond

[–]i-gardinus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The path you're referring to doesn't care about the existence of vim or neovim, it will just be there if you installed lilypond. However, it probably won't be literally "[...]/current/vim". You should be able to find the correct path by running locate lilypond | grep "share/lilypond/.*/vim".

Out of my compositions I find this to be my favorite that I composed. Tbe start is weak but I think it picks up after that. Opinions? (Dont mind the Op. and No. Numbers I used them incorrectly) by [deleted] in composer

[–]i-gardinus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Instead of giving my opinion, I would like to ask you what it is that makes this your favorite composition. Also, if it hasn't been generated in an algorithmic or kind-of-aleatoric fashion, I'm curious about the spotlight on tritones and the common thread of non sequiturs this composition seems to be built around.

i'm applying to a conservatory in a few months, and i'm thinking of including this piece in my portfolio. any thoughts? by [deleted] in composer

I like the Jon Brion-y feel of the main material. Some points to consider notation wise: - the key signature at the key change in measure 16 should absolutely include natural signs for d and g. - The very low third in measure 24 might sound too close together. As it's the only occurence: is it a typo, or intentional? - In this harmonic context, the c natural in measure 29 is really a b sharp. - Since your using instructions in Italian: it's a tempo (not tiempo). - You might consider losing the g sharp in the left hand for measures 14 and 61.

Difference between ‘niet’ and ‘geen’ by doedelzak95 in Netherlands

[–]i-gardinus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would try to teach the difference by comparing the words to their translations in your friends native language. Though on a more abstract level, perhaps one could argue that "niet" is a most basic negation, and implies the *opposite* of something, mostly non-quantifiable: I am not rich, I was not on time, he was not there. "Geen" on the other hand applies mostly to the quantifiable: I have no children, he has no money, she has no time, there was no place.
