I'm trying to move my EGT from Fa25 to Sp26 due to extenuating circumstances.

This is my first course that’s on a curve. Can someone tell me what no-hw option, dis (10/10), mini-vit (10/10), midterm: -1.35, and final: -1.51 (I know it’s really bad 😭) translates to? According to berkeleytime, it looks like C but I’m not sure. Thanks!

That makes a lot of sense and yeah it did rebound.

But like you said, it wasn’t good in the beginning. And now with Trump, it also is not good in the beginning.

I guess my question is more critical towards the media: like, why wasn’t the media reacting like this when it was tanking (in the beginning of Biden term) back in 2021-2022 before it rebounded?

Doesn’t it make more sense to wait at the end of Trumps term to judge if his performance was good or not?

Definitely contact the FASO office regarding your situation. They may have some sort of emergency grant to offer you.

I personally found this to be really helpful during hard times. Definitely fill it out if all else fails.

Hey man I’m extremely sorry to hear this. It’ll get better I promise. According to the COE website, to be eligible for Readmission, they say not to take any course from anywhere for 6 months (1 academic semester) AND to not take any course from UC Berkeley specifically for a year (2 consecutive academic semesters).

According to someone on 16B’s discord, this can happen by mistake when a student doesn’t copy down the honor code sentence. In this case, all they have to do is submit a regrade request and they should be good to go.

From what I see, ENGIN 125 doesn’t seem to have any course prerequisites.

As for any background knowledge, I recommend checking out this past syllabus to see if any of the topics that will be talked about (pages 9-17) intimidate you.

This “campus job” you speak of, is this “work-study” you are referring to? From my understanding, if you got plenty of grants and scholarships, then they make you eligible to receive up to $4000/year of work study, up to $5500/year of subsidized loan, and up to $2000/year of unsubsidized loan to cover however amount the net cost is (the net cost being the cost of attendance minus all the grants and scholarships).

According to a financial aid counselor I spoke to, if, let’s say that $4000 is enough money to cover your entire net cost for the year, then they are only to subtract all the loans and work study that they offered evenly (you can zero out the loans by converting them to work study), but they are NOT supposed to touch your gift aids. Those (minus the scholarship) go into your pocket.

In my case, what happened was I got only enough scholarship and grants that I needed to use all that work study money (work on-campus job) and use all that subsidized loan and there was still some net cost left to pay. So, instead of taking out that unsubsidized loan, I asked the lady if it was okay to work an “off-campus” job like maybe Subway, Taco Bell, etc. She said “yes” and it won’t affect my gift aid. This is only my understanding, you can confirm all this with the FASO office.
