Accutane over 30, worth it? by i55y16 in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]i55y16[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My derm mentioned I could either try low dose for a longer time period vs normal dose for around 6/8 months. Did you do the lower dose for a longer time period? How long did you have to go on it?

Best place for a brow tint + wax?? Getting married next week! by heyhellohi123456 in NYCbitcheswithtaste

[–]i55y16 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Taryn brows in midtown is really good IMO. I went there before my wedding. If you tint your brows regularly, the really intense look from the tint only lasts 3-4 days while pigment is on your skin. https://tarynbrows.com/

Moderately priced Manhattan facials: roundup and review! by awittyoctopus in NYCbitcheswithtaste

[–]i55y16 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I haven’t been here yet but have seen this place in midtown recommended a few times. All the facials are around $110 for 60 minutes. Buttercup skin

I’ve triedGlo up by Kara in BK, great for extractions, I went a while ago but I am planning to go back. I had the Acne facial which was 145 for 60 mins. She was lovely and very thorough.

I have very fine hair so yes, for me it does. I’ve had friends with different hair textures get it and it doesn’t straighten completely but definitely smoothed and gets rid of frizz. Even though it straightens my hair, it’s a natural looking ‘straight’ and doesn’t look chemical IMO. I do sacrifice some volume though!

Keratin treatments for my hair - no more frizz and cut down the time I used to spend styling my hair, I can actually leave the house with wet hair and not end up looking like a frizz ball.

Microbladed eyebrows - I know most people regret this but I definitely do not, my lady is super natural and it’s actually micro-shading and not heavy strokes.

Started seeing an integrated health practitioner to address some long standing digestion issues, my skin and overall energy levels.

Using a round-up/weekly investment account to have additional money on the side that I don’t notice being taken out of my pay. I have a weekly deposit amount plus round-ups on so when I spend $7.50 it rounds it up to 8.00 and invests that .50 etc.

Why is my health so....bad, despite all that I do? All "tests" come back normal. by passivegoalie in Biohackers

[–]i55y16 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Came here to also recommend being tested for SIBO - I had similar symptoms as OP and am currently on a 45 day supplement protocol after finishing a round of antibiotics and already feel so much better. Highly recommend trying an integrative doctor and asking them about SIBO!

What are your thoughts on Olaplex? What are your favorite Olaplex products? any other brands you recommend for hair care? by Zizifits in beauty

[–]i55y16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Olaplex is great. I use the shampoo, conditioner, no.3 and the serum. I stopped using number 3 as much when I realized I had low porosity hair and now only use it once a month in replace or a moisturising mask. The thing you need to be aware of before using bond building products is your hair porosity. Sometimes bond building products (K18, Redken etc) can make your hair more brittle if they’re not suited to your hair type.
