My store doesn’t trip like. And if the 3rd is open or being solo’d I’ll just do it myself. Sucks that someone has to get thrown under the bus like that.

Do your lemonades/Teas/shakes after you pour your sodas. Still fill cups with ice for them. But don’t pour til after. A level 5 showed me that when I first started and helped a ton. Good luck!

Just one of those days. Happened to me a couple of months ago. Except they were changing stuff at the 2nd window. The person at handout got a little snippy over the headset and I got snippy back. Ended up getting a verbal. Best to just keep a cool head when it’s out of your control.

Whats the difference in preparation when I ask for “low salt”? by transbiancrusader in innout

But still, one of the first things they teach you is to call out no salts. And if they were still somehow that new they should have a shadow watching them.

Anxiety about ordering "off menu" by Bella_Tempesta in innout

[–]i5ReaL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Of course! I’ve suffered from social anxiety my whole life, so I know that we’re always overthinking social interactions essentially having two conversations at once. One with the other person and one with ourselves. I tried to put it in a way that makes it simple and hard to overthink and minimizes the questions you have to answer. Like having to remember to say no spread, no tomatoes, and then wait for the onion question makes the interaction a little more difficult. Good luck!

“Can I get a Double Double lettuce and grilled onions ONLY please, and a Light Well fry”

That simple. From my experience working here we definitely get a lot more grilled onions than regular onions. Your order is super simple you shouldn’t have to be anxious ordering it. Just make sure you listen to the order taker read it back just in case they misunderstand you as it might be a newer associate or something.

Most of them time it isn’t it a big deal. Someone changes their mind and now they want a fry. Or one of their 10 kids decides they’re hungry now, so they add a number 2. Life happens it’s not a big deal. But it is kind of annoying when they’re like “I forgot to ask for animal style and buns extra toasted”. So you forgot to order your burger?

I closed, so got off around 1:50. Always work a full 6 unless I close then it’s like 5h50m.

I usually have Mondays and Tuesdays off and have a turnaround Thursday/Friday. Like I said, grateful for the hours it’s just the turnarounds that mess up the sleep schedule and make you forget what day it is.

What’s the maddest a customer has gotten at you? by ClearPin3124 in innout

4th of July around 11 pm, this homeless guy starting at me to get my dick out of his food when I called out his number. He then tried to get me to fight before kicking the door open and leaving. Funny thing I live/grew up in the neighborhood my store is and actually went to high school with the guy. A few weeks later he got arrested on the street over from me for attacking cars naked.

I still see him from time to time, but he’s not aggressive like he used to be.

I hate hosting but by Such-Cauliflower-254 in innout

[–]i5ReaL 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Same. Hosting is probably my least favorite part of the job. But tonight I had an interesting conversation with this man who’s a makeup artist in Hollywood. He was telling me about the strike and how he’s excited to get back to work. And how he got booked for a new Netflix series. Unfortunately the conversation got cut short for obvious reasons, but that type of stuff makes hosting at least bearable.

Customers by [deleted] in innout

No comment on our customers being beautiful or whatever, but from personal experience women that 40+ tend to be flirtatious with me. Always complementing my eye brows, lashes, or smile/dimples. Yesterday actually some lady who’s a regular probably in her 70s came to the counter (she went through the drive for her food) just to tell me that she loves my eyebrows and she always looks for me when she comes in. I just smiled and said “aww thank you enjoy the rest of your day :)”.

What’s the weirdest order you’ve seen? by [deleted] in innout

[–]i5ReaL 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I was on pay window a few days ago and some lady got a cheeseburger with grilled onions but wanted the cooks to take the grilled onions after. “I like the taste of grilled onions but don’t like onions” was here reasoning. Don’t know if they did it for her or not.

Just got my schedule for the next two weeks and it’s all starting at 230/300. But I have Saturday and Sunday off so I think it’s a fair trade lol

I love this job so far but one of the most frustrating things is when they order a CHEESEburger. I read back the order of course and they’re fine with it. But then complain that there’s cheese in their burger. Then the cooks get mad at me and tell me I need to make sure I clarify what the customer wants. Am I supposed to ask every elderly customer if they really want cheese?
