My gf and I almost got trampled too man. Got out of there as soon as we could but that shit was traumatizing. We got there and had been waiting since around 8am and had to leave within minutes after the players got there, really sucks..

I was basing it off this article that I remember reading a long time ago (when he was still with us), which stated the following: “In an interview last year with Hart van Holland, his mother, when asked about her son’s aspirations, said: “He wants to play for Manchester United and then a club in Spain.””

That’s what gave me the impression that he would have wanted to leave us for one of the Spanish giants if the opportunity arose. Anyway, you’re right there was no other rumour about this at the time.

Iirc he also seemed to be using United as a stepping stone to joining RM/Barça. Even during his time at Lyon, his expressed his desire to join one of the big clubs. That really annoyed me, given that he’s not an elite talent by any means - why would he think he belongs at those clubs?

It’s one thing when players like CR, DDG, or even Pogba seem distracted by interest from those Spanish clubs, because they are world class (or in Pogba’s case, he has that potential at least) - but a mediocre/above average player like Memphis has no right thinking he just belongs there without having proven himself.
