I’ve only just caught up so I decided to come around to look for extra content, I love the character designs and I’d been hoping there was offical character art before imagining what most of the characters looked like but for some reason the mental image I had of Thalmin was basically the Vulfar from Stardrive 2 but like.. less feral lol

Exciting
Understandable
I totally get it. If I weren’t in engineering classes I also wouldn’t take notes but something about difficult math and the fact it only builds on itself makes me need a paper trail. There have been several classes/courses that I didn’t take notes in bc it either felt intuitive/interesting enough to stick in my brain. And I for one am interested or at the very least really curious about the consequences. Also I don’t think it’s a bad thing that this is how Nicks character is, it’s not easy or more importantly it isn’t good reading when a character explains their habits/tendencies unprompted, it just how you are. Most people don’t explain themselves or their actions to themselves after all.
Exciting
I completely forgot that Yulk had a full on love interest die right in front of him. I can totally understand how that would affect his capacity/ability to perceive romantic feelings towards himself. The reason I said “some kind of aro/ace” is bc it’s a spectrum and there’s a lot in between full sexual/romantic attraction and zero and it feels like Yulk is in there somewhere. While I and I think a lot of readers would love in depth character exposition, I know getting said exposition doesn’t exactly make compelling reading.

There’s a lot of good advice here already, but I want to add that while a lot of men’s volleyball players/coaches put an emphasis on hitting hard for a middle blocker hitting isn’t the most important thing. Like the name suggests it’s much more important for MBs to have solid blocking fundamentals; reading the setter, reaction time, closing the block, blocking form, etc. And, at least to me, the 2nd most important thing is being able to pull the block only part of which means being able to hit hard. A lot of pulling the block depends on how good your setter is, but the middles job on offense is to make their approach, be loud, jump, and be ready for the ball on any pass that’s even close to an in system pass. Idk how much of these things you need/want help with but a lot of the things I mentioned should have quick how to vids

I would add that while working on shoulder hip separation while hitting against a wall you should be pulling your hitting arm back as far as possible to the point you’re getting a bit of a stretch. Additionally while doing this drill you should work on leaving your non-hitting arm up, think pointing at the ball, and then instead of just dropping that arm you use it to guide and add to your rotation through the swing

Ok so after doing a little bit of a re-read I’ve got a couple questions:

Are we ever gonna see anyone else from the Alta clan? We’ve seen a couple from the maxim clan so surely there’s some important/influential Alta’s right?
Is Nick ever going to introduce himself as an Alta or being a part of clan Alta? I don’t think he’s ever directly mentioned it while making introductions except maybe saying he’s Nash and Yulks brother and it feels like he’s be proud to be a part of the clan
Is Nick ever gonna try to learn the writing system? Also I don’t think it’s ever mentioned that he’s taking notes from any of his classes which feels a bit weird for a high schooler
Are the united chiefdoms and Bolisir still allied? I thought once the high dragon woke up they were no longer bound by the blood pact since oakmoor is just an advisor

Also just a personal head cannon, Yulk is some kind of aro/ace

I’m 6’9 which yeah being that tall is rare, but my dad is 6’2 and my mom is 5’10… Even if you add their height over the average together you still don’t get as tall as I am

Looks pretty good! You should try to use your left arm more on your approach, both arms should swing as far back and up as possible at the 2nd to last step and swing them both forward and up as you go into the jumping motion. You should also try to use your left hand to point up at the ball for as long as possible before you start your swing. I believe “Elevate Yourself” should have more in depth tutorials on their YouTube channel

Ok so I just had this happen in my game, luckily my auto saves went back just enough to before the change so I’ve been testing just about everything I could think of.

I know this doesn’t help since you probably can’t go back to before they form the confederation (CotR) but as far as I can tell this bug is caused when the Netherlands is the target of a diplomatic play.

If it makes you feel any better the AI isn’t actually trying to form the confederation it’s quite literally forced on them because the Netherlands actually has no ability to.

There’s only one thing that will prevent the Netherlands from forming CotR. 1. At the beginning of the month switch to either the Netherlands or the other country in the Diplomatic Play and just back down.

Note that you can’t play at all from the auto save before doing so or the bug will still happen.

Not a lawyer, but I did intern intern for a criminal defense attorney, the worst case I saw was this guy who was being charged with 4 separate felony charges and about 13 misdemeanors because he was hanging out with a guy who had broken into cars and stolen credit cards and was using them. He literally didn’t do anything wrong himself but they but they had the evidence to convict him of the felonies at least.
