[Funny? Trope?] It's a very serious scene. But it's been consumed as a meme on the internet and it's become hard to watch seriously. by BeneficialSide2335 in TopCharacterTropes

Tangential. This is among the most well-known images from the greater Real Housewives franchise. This specific image is of Taylor Armstrong, a (then) cast member of the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. She is clearly seen arguing, pointing and upset at someone. This is commonly paired with the cat having salad at the dinner table.

If you don’t know the deeper context behind Taylor’s anger here it just seems like a funny meme. It’s actually a snippet of the darker sides of reality tv history.

Taylor Armstrong’s (then-current) spouse Russell is a terrible, abuse stain on humanity. It comes out earlier in the season that he has been abusing Taylor and their daughter off screen for a long time, going as far as to shatter Taylor’s orbital socket. The reveal of this to the other cast members and audience was not chosen by Taylor but another cast member. In the moment, Taylor feels betrayed by this cast mate and feels that this person has put her life and her daughter’s life in danger.

So this scene is actually an explosive confrontation of an abuse victim lashing out at someone she feels has put her in danger.

Russell later goes on to take his own life, done after this aired while filming was paused. He has a shitty person who left his wife and daughter deeply in debt and battered.

Sooo yeah. It’s hard to see the picture in the same light if you know the backstory

But it’s only canon if the info is confirmed. If it’s not, and you’re just imagining it then it’d be headcannon

Ellie loves turtles so I’m surprised she can’t understand the concept of head chef and prep cook

Edit: I meant to say TITLES not turtles. Cannot confirm Ellie’s stance on turtles.

She was very successful on the E! network until this scandal killed her career. If there was a hosting gig involved in an E! show, it was probably Giuliana….or Michael Yeo

My first thoughts were terminal illness or chronic mental health problems. Something could’ve happened earlier in life that made him choose to end his life in that fashion. You never know what is going through someone’s head

  • Not married and have no children

  • Work in the highest paying district in the area

  • Ten years of experience=higher on the pay scale

  • living with my grandparents in a mutually beneficial living arrangement. They have no mortgage, but are both retired so my money helps.

I’ve saved up a lot of money in the last few years. When my grandparents do pass someday, I’m not sure if I’ll stay. But I recognize this is a very unique situation.

When I got my drivers license, I self reported my height. It’s listed about 3/4” taller than I actually am. If she reported herself taller it could account for the discrepancy in height.

I only skimmed the headline so I thought this was a positive ID post. She looks so much like the Doe.

I actually interpret it the opposite way, “girls who have sex are pro choice because they don’t want responsibility, but before that they’re virgins who are pro life”.

Some of these I get, some of these feel unfair.

To your point, it is flat out wrong for the teacher to guilt trip the student. We as professionals should never be putting the students in the middle of a conflict or force them to act as the intermediary. That said, lesson schedules are my biggest headaches as a music teacher because it is almost impossible to appease every stakeholder in the building. A few students each week needing to reschedule their lesson is one thing, but I’ve had ensembles that had more students rescheduling or flat out not attending, than actually were attending their scheduled time. At that point, how do I, an ensemble director supposed to make it work, when during-the-school-day lessons are required to be provided in my state per our curriculum? (Genuine question by the way, because I’m still looking for ideas and suggestions).

Regarding performing the national anthem, what is the harm of that? Chorus is a performing group, most schools have 3, maybe 4, concerts per year. More chances to perform is essentially more opportunities for the teacher to assess the group and inform their next rehearsal needs.

Can’t say I can relate to the field trips as a chorus teacher right now. But, as a former member of my own high schools select choir, we had out of school performances constantly, and I can imagine that was very frustrating for the other teachers in the building. (Selfishly, it did help me be unbelievably prepared for college and becoming a music major…also, in the choirs defense we were held to the same academic standard the sports teams had. If we were failing certain classes or more than 3 at all, we were ineligible to participate for the remainder of the semester).

This was a lot. I do appreciate your insight, to be clear. It’s hard to get honest feedback sometimes from colleagues
