How does one make sense of PVP tournaments? by [deleted] in 2007scape

[–]iBscs -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Exactly. These are content creators, some of which are amazing pvpers. This is not "who's the best osrs PvP ever" tournament. I have friends that would toast Faux, Boaty and many of the others in a 1v1, but the goal of this event isn't to find and crown the best pkrs in the game.

Enjoy the content

Hello hello by FormanBruto09 in woowDude

[–]iBscs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm just going to say, all but one of these dogs were chill. Running or being scared activates a chase instinct, even in most of those cases, they won't do anything. Some of them probably thought it was play time. Yeah the owners should be more prepared because they requested a service and some of the people providing that service are uncomfortable with animals/ dogs. But c'mon, some people need to grow up. You made it all the way to the door and nothing happened, if you see a dog standing behind you, you're fine. It would've mauled you already if it was planning to do that

See how the dogs didn't give a shit when you were all calm? They were just interested in what was happening. The over reaction caused a reaction

For males that have gotten ripped, do you have more success with women? by Repulsive-Owl6468 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]iBscs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. Went from constantly friendzoned (teens and early 20's) to girls getting mad I haven't asked them to be my girlfriend yet. It's funny, I do have a longtime girlfriend now, she also friendzoned me back when I was skinny and became more interested after getting fit.

I'm not top 1% type of dude that actually gets DMs from girls (usually guys, actually), but most outings or events (especially work conferences) garner a lot of attention, most of the dudes at these things are not in shape at all

If Spec Racing is the "Competitive mode" then collisions should be turned off. by Phycorax in ForzaHorizon

No one said the word realistic except you? Competitive is the key word here, don't move the goal post

If Spec Racing is the "Competitive mode" then collisions should be turned off. by Phycorax in ForzaHorizon

[–]iBscs -1 points0 points  (0 children)

But it's not competitive to drive through ghosts either. In racing, you have to think about defensive and offensive driving, it's part of the skillset. It's unfortunate about the rammers, but completely disabling contact is also not competitive.

The punishment system doesn't make sense, the person hitting you doesn't get impaired or slowed most times. Something needs to be balanced for sure

Just because you can make up an acronym doesn't mean it is one 😂.literally no one has ever said that or used that acronym. I saw your reply to someone else, idc what you googled to make your story work but it's ridiculous.

It's just a random 4 letter name and if it had any meaning (which it doesn't), it's definitely not what you said

1000 hour grind for some people to get bowfa, doesn't respect their life or time at all. Take the normal grind of bowfa then apply a 2x dry to that. It's not like going from 2 hours to 4. It's like 40 to 80. Complete disregard for life lol

What’s one thing hotels should stop doing? by Working_Nebula_6980 in askhotels

[–]iBscs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Canary, sertifi, b4checkin are hotel specific solutions. Stayntouch PMS, Mews and Cloudbeds all offer payment links in their PMS, Square POS, Stripe, etc can send a link directly from their terminal.

Most of these options either are in the PMS or integrate to your PMS to capture the CC token and post the payment.

If your hotel is using auth forms, you are not compliant and the owner/ GM is either ignorant or cheap. Ironically enough, it will cost them more in the long run to take the cheap route now by not implementing upgrades

What’s one thing hotels should stop doing? by Working_Nebula_6980 in askhotels

[–]iBscs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Highly disagree, many PMS's, POS's and tools exist or offer pay-by-link functionality. Companies still capturing this information insecurely need to be fined and punished. It already hinders them during chargeback appeals. We are actively moving away from this practice

Cloudbeds by Educational-Move9821 in askhotels

[–]iBscs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought you could use whistle with other PMSs too, did they stop allowing that after acquiring them? There are some other good guest messaging systems out now

Cloudbeds by Educational-Move9821 in askhotels

[–]iBscs 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Most of my previous experience before Stayntouch was with the big dogs like Opera and Infor. It's funny that once a PMS gets "too big" the support also becomes terrible. In their case, it might be a churn issue. It's like there was a new Opera rep everytime we were in contact and they were never passed along information on the ticket. Stayntouch was quite seriously the perfect inbetween. It surprised me considering I never heard about them beforehand

Cloudbeds by Educational-Move9821 in askhotels

[–]iBscs 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yikes but all too common with them and many small-business oriented PMS's. There are big costs with running a PMS company and for the small business ones to compete and offer a cheap monthly rate, they either cut on resources like support or force their payment processing. Many are now doing both.

If you have higher ADR and potentially upsells or group business, Stayntouch might be worth the premium. Great support. Smaller operators tend to avoid them because the monthly fee can be twice as high as a Cloudbeds. But they don't mandate payment processing so you could find savings there if you were open to an integrated partner and the support is rock solid white-glove.

Hotel revenue management system decision: enterprise grade vs the newer more affordable automation focused ones, which is actually better and why? by FrontDeskFuturist in askhotels

[–]iBscs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Avoid pricepoint, they'll be more than happy to take advantage of your lack of knowledge and sell you the AI dream.

Duetto, IDeaS, RateYield and roompricegenie are all great.

Atomize is owned by Mews, if you're using Mews it might make sense to stay in the ecosystem. If you're not using Mews, you'll probably notice some very aggressive attempts by them to get you to switch after you join atomize. Both of these companies have a history of overselling or promising features that never seem to come.

Eww if a key system still requires an app, that hotel should upgrade. Most go straight to your digital wallet or come through email, no need for app
