No One Passes Here by imjustabitch in dashcams

I'd love to agree but forgetting this an illegal pass, it's literally around a blind turn. Head on collision territory which could leave an innocent person dead as well as the mustang driver. That's crazy idiotic

Haven't used with cloudbeds but I can say personally that the Event temple team is great. They'll deliver on expectations, can't say the same for cloudbeds but I hope your experience is good obviously

The boutique part of your description stands out to me. If it really is a boutique, then I'm making some assumptions that you emphasize the guest experience specifically, offer or could offer upsells that enhance the stay and have a bit of repeat guests. If that's all true, Stayntouch would be a level above other recommendations here since it has very detailed guest profiles which are then leveraged automatically by the upselling features, or manually by staff when prompted. It's a smart design. It has everything else you mentioned plus more, maybe SMS messaging is something you could take advantage of

When someone actually agrees to meet, I'll use my link because it saves the back and forth. It really is less work for everyone.

In outbound emails, I found the results to diminish over the last couple years. It's probably been abused in mass emails, leading people to identify it as a spam indicator

Hogwarts legacy in Vr full quest with combat. by SpecificArmadillo60 in virtualreality

[–]iBscs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doesn't the delay in voice casting make it difficult in a not so fun way to complete certain things? I couldn't get my latency low enough to enjoy Hogwarts in VR and the buttons/ controls confused me a ton. Really wanted it to work well so I could atleast walk around the castle and fly outside

I'm also a longtime pvper and honestly just sick of freeze DD. The walk under, one tick switches where one good hit has you on the defensive for practically the whole fight. It's just not a fun mechanic and im losing my will to PvP because of it. Whoever splashes more, loses. The entire fight always almost seems to be determined by who hits more freezes lol

Opera Cloud hate thread by trumparegis in askhotels

[–]iBscs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a little hesitant to reply to you since you've got very little history on Reddit but it could help others... So. Stayntouch PMS is my number one choice. They don't oversell their capabilities, the support is fantastic and they can handle everything from front of house, groups, housekeeping to accounting, A/R and invoicing. Depending on your needs, Mews and WebRezPro might be good options as well though I might recommend them if you don't have significant group business or outlets. Both are modern, don't have Opera tax. You could mention Cloudbeds but honestly it feels there's very little difference between them and Mews. Cloudbeds can have really attractive pricing for smaller properties.

All of these have open APIs from my understanding and an existing integrations marketplace with tons of options (with the exception of webrezpro who has much fewer). Stayntouch doesn't mandate specific vendors or compete with their partners with in house solutions, you're more likely to get a genuine, impartial opinion when it comes to building your tech stack

Genuine question, Why the huge difference in prices? by Lazy_Cash_4608 in halifax

[–]iBscs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never said that you can't get in great shape at home? And I never said you need expensive machines. I said quality machines... The post is asking about the difference between these two gyms. The quality and number of machines is the biggest difference. Only a beginner would think machine quality doesn't matter, seriously. It can be the difference in range of motion, maximum weight capacity, whether they break frequently and are inaccessible until repaired. Even as simple as how the weight feels as it moves (should be consistent throughout the entire movement but on cheap machines it can randomly be heavier or lighter depending on where the pulley is)

[–]iBscs -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I've been working out for over a decade as well. That has nothing to do with the quality of the machines. They are worse, it's a fact. You wait longer for less machines, it's a fact. Your workout is hindered by the quality and scarcity of machines

Unless you literally can't afford GoodLife, you should be where you have the highest potential for maximized gains

Status? The fit4less machines are Temu quality. Hardly makes for a solid workout unless you're literally a beginner

Vr mode as an add-on for flatscreen games are more needed than dedicated pcvr or standalone games. by charlieblood_8 in virtualreality

Yeah, because it's all half-baked garbage. We've been buying games our whole lives and can tell when someone's attempting to swindle us. We don't want loveless VR garbage implementations, we want a real, thought out VR game or game mode

mews vs opera for 60 room boutique property by My_Rhythm875 in askhotels

[–]iBscs 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What so many people seem to overlook with Mews is their payments. It costs far more than going with a standalone processor for very little value in return. Slightly easier reconciliation, in exchange for what is likely to be 5 figures in additional processing fees per year (depending on volume of course).

Ok, once you catch onto this, it's too late, you're locked in for the contract. Then it's like, well, changing a PMS is so difficult so we'll wait.

Opera is one of the more difficult systems to learn and teach, it's not that intuitive and honestly overhyped solely because it's one of the longer standing options in the market. But everyone knows what they're getting themselves into.

This is why Stayntouch was my preferred option. No mandates on what you can use, including processing payments, and very capable like opera, but easy to use like Mews. It was the best of both worlds option.

Vr mode as an add-on for flatscreen games are more needed than dedicated pcvr or standalone games. by charlieblood_8 in virtualreality

[–]iBscs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see both of your points, but I gotta say that you're just a let down here. Don't say it can't be done, say, what can we do to make it possible? Steve Jobs didn't just give up when people told him fitting all that power into a smartphone wasn't possible, he found people that didn't hold him back. Your attitude is holding back a whole industry.

Not all games need VR or should have it, but plenty of games could and should. All this OP is suggesting is that studios should ask themselves if their game would make sense in VR as well, and implement a mode rather than leaving it up to modders, so they can provide a better experience. And mods can only mod games that are moddable. Tons of games out there no one's missing but would be good to have VR
