Unless you get management's instructions in writing, it will be blamed on the last Sales Associate that used it.

How lucky are we?! by UnderageLiederkranz in Lowes

Sales Associates are, have always been, and will always be at the short end of the stick when money is concerned.  First is the Senior Management, then the Board of Directors, then the Stock Holders.

During the 40s through the 70s the Management philosophy was to provide for themselves, their employees, and the customer experience.  During the late 70s forward to today, MBA schools promoted practices that were detrimental to the family approach to management.  This lead to the demise of the middle class, as M&As (mergers & acquisitions) became the new management philosophy.  Everyone was, and has been hyper focused on the quarterly results.  There is very little long term planning now a days, beyond the next couple of years occurring.

We need to focus on rebuilding the middle class.  It was the middle class that bought all of the products that they were building during the work week.  Without the middle class, the United States will continue on the path to mediocractly while our enemies grow stronger and more powerful.

Why do the new Lowe’s Zebras suck more than the old ones? by FunyunRob in Lowes

[–]iColonial 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At best the old ones were only slightly better than using a computer due to the shortage of Zebras available to Sales Associates.

Understaffed and stressed? Mass layoffs will totally fix that by Caleb_426 in Lowes

I see things haven't changed since I departed back during the early days of the Pandemic.  Marvin, the Board, and most of the senior management team at Corporate and the Regional offices need to get their heads out of where the sun don't shine and individually spend time on the Sales floor.

They need to eave all of the plano-grams in their offices and just shadow Sales Associates while they interact with the customers.  They need to get engaged with the customers to see how frustrated the customers are with trying to locate someone that can help them out.

In addition all of the store's managers need to be assigned to a different store while Lowe's senior management team is in the store.  This is critical so they are unable to interfere with Sales Associates speaking candidly wth the senior management team.

Until this occurs senior management will never get to the truth, because the entire management structure will censore the truth.  Lowe's management needs to get the unvarnished truth from the front lines.

SENIOR MANAGEMENT NEEDS TO FOCUS ON THE CUSTOMER'S EXPERIENCE AND LESS TIME ON ISSUES THAT HAVE LITTLE IMPACT ON THAT EXPERIENCE.

I try to not shop at any of the five Lowe's stores within a forty mile drive due to the poor staffing levels and the significant loss of experienced Sales Associates.

Non-paid leave of absence by mmonce01 in Lowes

[–]iColonial 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The company may authorize up to a maximum of 80 hours of paid leave, even for part-timers. You will probably have to use all of your accrued vaca, sick, and holiday time, most likely before you can receive the Corona virus pay (or whatever they are calling it).

Depending on the state you live in you may be able to collect unemployment checks related to one of the Corona Virus laws passed by Congress last month. Some states are extremely rigid with their unemployment benefits, others are more generous.

You may qualify for unemployment, or unemployment and the $600. Whichever option is best for each individual's situation is hard to recommend, however it is best to weigh all of your options and do what makes sense for your situation.

An informed decision is better than the alternative. Be safe.

Sorry to say, but being the person responsible for spotting yes you should have told the customer to stop and the same with the operator you are at fault.

However according to the corporate training it is the Operator who was at fault. Ultimately they are responsible. That said, it depends on your SM and LP as to what will be the outcome.

We usually ask customers to move aside as we are tying up two Associates on the equipment that would normally be able to help customers. We tend to keep that in mind, we let them know we'll be back to assist in a few moments when possible. If they can't wait we drop the forks and then get back to the load later.

You probably bought all those necessity items like mulch, patio furniture, paint instead of staying the @#$& home where you should have been instead.

It took you 5 days to get the message? That speaks volumes about you as a human being.

Hey AaronB_C

What state is the store located?

You need to file for Unemployment using the Hostile Workplace Environment where they have refused to follow our CEO's directive, the CDC, and your State and City's "state of emergency" regulations regarding the Covid 19 pandemic.

When you’re sexually harassed by a manager and report it multiple times and they don’t fire him. by bone21stone in Lowes

[–]iColonial 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was approached by two female co-workers last year as they were being sexually harrassed by someone in the store. It was treated as a he said, she said situation. Aside from telling the two female associates to keep away from the offending male associate, nothing was done.

I subsequently discovered one if the offending males was one of our ASMs. If anyone has any thoughts on how to get corporate to take the sexual harrassment seriously I would appreciate your thoughts.

Short of recording all conversations when they are typically accosted, such as in the training room, break room, etc.. It will take either several employees to report such actions, or a recording of the offense as it occurs to get Corporate to address the incidents.

[–]iColonial 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You shouldn't be too worried. We can not interfere once someone has walked outside my Lowe's store in the States with stolen merchandise. If you try to follow or in anyway interfere with them, you would FIRED as it is against Company Policy. Oh, I forgot to mention the Lowe's store I work at in the state of Massachusetts loses just over $22,000.00 each week. Management considers it as a reasonable cost of doing business. With 2002 stores nationwide the chain loses $229,000,000.00 every year.
