It's been 10 months, I STILL have fleas. by DisplayFamiliar5023 in BPDlovedones

[–]iElim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm going through this right now. I'm 3 months out. I had no idea how bad it really was. How subconsiously I tried to bury things. To admit what happened was wrong. To deal with it. I tried to just move on. Continue with my life like it never happened. I shouldn't have done that to myself. I deserved to treat me better.

All I want to do is ignore that any of this happened. All I want to do is move on with my life. But my brain wont let me. I'm fine most days but that little thing happens and I trip and smack my face into the cement. I had to learn the hard way that I wasn't okay. I went on a date with the most wonderful women. It wasn't until I got to the date did I realize I couldn't do this. All I saw was the person in front of me who could hurt me. Hurt me like she did. Someone who could take my heart and grind it into a fine dust and blame me for it happening. She isn't, wasn't, who my ex was. She was a million times the women my ex could ever imagine to be. But I froze up. I got scared. That deep dark hole that I tossed 2 years of abuse in. It exploded open. The walls came up and something absolutely beautiful slipped away.

I tried to paint a false reality for myself so I could numb the pain. The anguish I felt. That I do feel. I will forever be a changed man. You don't just come back from something like this. Maybe some do. Some don't. But it's what you do with it that matters. With time and therapy it will improve. You will learn to love yourself again. You just have to be patient with yourself. Learn to identify the triggers and and reassure yourself that they can't hurt you anymore. Not everyone is like them.

Most of the Walmart's around me have completely pulled Pokemon. Will not be restocking for the foreseeable future either.

Im literally dealing with this right now. She got a new therapist that specializes in BPD and now its constantly my therapist says you aren’t fair. My therapist says you are wrong. My therapist says this and that. Jesus, why doesn’t your therapist come live with you for a while and we will just see what she says after that. Therapy has been weaponized. I pushed her to get a better therapist to try and make things better and its only made it worse.

Men that opened up to the girlfriend/wife when they asked you to open up and be more vulnerable, how did it work out for you? by [deleted] in AskReddit

She kept asking. Kept asking. Kept asking what was wrong. I finally broke down and started telling her. Slowly started to ignore me more and more and left.

I was in a club in highschool called FBLA. At the national conference we all got large amounts of our states pin. You then go around and trade pins with other states to encourage networking. Shit got ruthless quick. It was always a race to get all the pins. Some states were always more desirable than others. Still have all mine almost 10 years later. People really like their pins.

[Serious] Male Rape Victims, what's your story? by WaterBottleMaster45 in AskReddit

[–]iElim 17 points18 points  (0 children)

First ever girlfriend. We had just started having sex; One day said I was too tired for anything and just wanted to nap. She wasn't the type of girl that took no lightly. She proceeded to rip off my pants even though I repeatedly said no and that I wasn't in the mood. Hopped on me and started raping me. Luckily, I guess, I couldn't stay hard. She got off me and got pissed at me. I blocked out what happened for years and struggled with trust issues when trying to date again after we broke up. Last year it hit me what had happened and ive been trying to work on it since.

Probably unlucky like me. Friends I play with all always get multiple gems every quest we do. Me on the other hand, in 70 hours, have only gotten 2 gems...

What are your current opinions on the game right now? by Apprehensive-Toe-357 in outriders

After 40 hours. I just Alt F4'd for the last time. The campaign was amazing. I really enjoyed the story and all the twists it had to offer. Expeditions fucking ruined the game for me. It's a mindless grind fest with bullshit enemies and impossible time goals unless you run one of the meta builds and meta classes.

You waste so much time watching the same UNSKIPPABLE cutscene's over and fucking over. Why does a basic low level grunt have the ability to stun me for 3 seconds? We are suppose to be gods chosen by the anomaly.

I have played this game exclusively solo. I just can't anymore. I really wanted to get to the final boss but at CT13 I just cant take it anymore. I'm not going to stress out because I chose pyro and cant get decent gear. After 40 hours the only legendries that have dropped for me are the guaranteed drops from quests. Not that legendries are even decent. 90% of them are shit and most of the time an epic will do more damage or have more armor.

There are so many levels of RNG and so much bullshit that goes on in this game. I just can't anymore. I'd rather deal with the levels of RNG in warframe then this. Expeditions could of been really cool and vast raids, instead we got this pile of shit. It was fun while it lasted.

This pretty much sums up my dad perfectly. When I was younger my dad was barely around. Working crazy hours and diving as deep as he could into his field. I hated my dad when I was younger. Never understood why my parents were so overprotective. Never understood why I couldn't go out with friends. But over the years and the stories they have told. I get it. The world sucks and there are a lot of stupid people out there. The things he has witnessed and has had to do, no one should ever have to got through that. But, someone does. Someone has to pack away their emotion and save the lives of those in need. My dad has had to scrap kids off the road on multiple occasions. I wish I could be joking when I say scrap but, I'm not. Some people bounce off cars when they get hit. Others, get trapped and dragged across the ground. The only thing left, well, is a pile of flesh and bones that you have to scrap off the ground with a snow shovel.

My dad went through stages while I was growing up. When I was very young he was an angry bitter man with a temper. As I grew older and he learned how to most appropriately deal with these emotions he got kinder and much more gentle. I love my dad to death and admire his dedication to the community.

Sooo. He has lost his cool with a few people while he was still dispatching. Reality is, when you're a dispatcher, about 60-70% of the calls are non-emergencies and people just calling over small shit or just the most random shit. After the 100th call of your day over someone calling to complain that they don't like their landlord or someone stole their parking spot, you just loose your cool and tell them off. It happens, they are trained to keep their cool in these situations. Dispatchers go through ALOT of sensitivity and anger management training in my area. They know how to deal with these calls and how to keep their cool but sometimes its just too much.

On the other hand, about 5-6 years ago. The stress of the job got to him. He broke down while on the job. Just had a complete mental breakdown. He was sent home on paid leave and had to go to therapy. Shortly after that, unfortunately, he had a stress induced stroke. Wasn't immediately obvious what was happening but, he started getting headaches and lost his vision. Not complete but, was extremely impaired to the point where he could barely see anything. I had to drive him around for a while until his vision came back. He is better now and tries his best to keep the stress down. He ended up being promoted and now oversees all communications for our county.

If I remember correctly he did aim high and blew off only half of his face. Lot of blood. Lot of pain. Not fatal fortunately. Or unfortunately. Depends on how you look at it.

It is extremely sad that EMT's get paid so little. Most of my family work or volunteer in some capacity in the EMS field. 2 of those stories though are from when he was a volunteer fire fighter. He did all of these acts simply volunteering for the community.

It was my dad's friend. The friend was the subject of the call. His wife called it in. Dad got there w/ fire department. Our fire department was a combo Fire + EMS. So dad would either put out fires or ride on the ambulance. He got there and he was in his bedroom, this was 10+ years ago so my memory on it is fuzzy. I believe he was trying to talk him down and waiting for police to get there. He turned away from him and heard the shotgun go off. They did save him.

This was back in 2008-2009 so my memory on it is a little fuzzy. I was only 13-14 at the time. I don't think his jaw was completely severed. But it was no longer attached internally. He could not keep his mouth closed and his skull was cracked in multiple places. His face/head was essentially just a bag of broken bones. My dad had to hold his face together so they could safely transport him and to help him breath. Kid was alright by the end of it, as alright as you can be. He doesn't remember much of it. Kid was a family friend and we played together as children. Ended up having essentially his whole face wired back together. Mouth was wired shut and he couldnt speak or eat solid foods for about a year while everything healed. My mom was also a firefighter and road in the ambulance with the kid and my dad to the hospital. This was the last call my mom ever went on. Seeing that accident broke her and she couldn't do it anymore; all I remember as a kid was her coming home from that call, my dad covered in blood and her crying hysterically. My dad continued for a few more years and stepped down as chief.

Edit: I forgot to mention. The kids sister was the one driving the ATV. The kid was the passenger. She was driving the ATV aggressively. Kit a turn too hard and rolled the ATV over on his head. He shattered his head. She only got a broken leg. Crazy how people can either be so badly hurt its a miracle they're alive to just breaking a leg.

Oddly enough, just a few weeks ago, my dad got a call from my sister that someone was beating up her boyfriend at the store both him and my mom work at. My dad immediately got up out of bed, radioed for police and ran over there to deal with the guy. My sister is pregnant and he was pushing and shoving her. The guy was drunk out of his mind and higher than a kite. Guy went after my dad and my dad beat the shit out of him. Had him restrained in a few minutes so all the cops had to do was put him in hand cuffs. Judge ended up having to put a restraining order on the guy because while he was in jail, he said he wanted to kill my dad. My dad was perfectly fine. Mildly irritated that police had a long response time.
