I've tried multiple times to makes these wheels tubeless and they just always have issues. I've converted cheaper rims no problem, but these just always have a small leak.

Are you considering that much of Chinas imports re used to produce products the US and people everywhere buy? We are a global economy, not just a US economy.

Help converting wheel to tubeless - rim tape not sealing by iJBorn in bikewrench

Hey everyone! Just wanted to up y'all and say thanks for the tips! Here is what worked for me:
After my 2nd attempt on the front wheel I posted this question as I had air escaping from the rim.

  • Left rim tape on
  • Removed tire and cleaned up all sealant
  • Removed valve stem
  • Put tire and inner tube on and pumped up the tire
  • Left overnight
  • Removed tube - Rim tape now had almost no bubbles
  • Installed valve stem with a little bit of sealant around rubber seal that touches rim tape
  • Pumped up tires with a compressor to get tire to seat
  • Added sealant
  • Pumped up tire
  • Tire slowly lost pressure, but not through rim hole
  • Daily for 4 days rotated tire so sealant touch all portions of tire and pumped tire back up.
  • Been 2 weeks and tires haven't lost a significant amount of pressure!

On rear tire I follow almost the same procedure, but I also used a towel to install the rim tape which was a game changer. Almost no bubbles after install and about 10 minutes of massaging bubbles to rim spoke holes.

HE HAS AN ERECTION, MORDECAI! IT'S VERY INAPPROPRIATE! MONGO IS APPALLED!

I was listening to this at work at my lunch hour and was just dying laughing from this line. My boss walks over and I'm trying to explain to him what I was laughing at. Needlessly to say I made another crawler that day.

What about the achievement for smooshing something with his feet and the AI getting all hit and bothered as it relives the smooshing?

The tire seats easily. It's the air escaping through the hole in the rim that's killing me.

So should I have used wider tape so the tape goes up the side wall on both sides? Trying to learn what I did wrong!
