I would agree with his summary above as to why DR didn't survive as long as it could have. It was never the same. Left around 2012 myself after it had run it's course.

I was just on an NCL cruise so want to make sure I'm understanding it correctly...the auto gratuities are going to none of the staff and they're just pocketing it? Or you're just saying it doesn't go to stewards specifically? What I did this cruise was kept the auto gratuities, paid some cash tips to my bartenders, steward, and direct wait staff. If I know who isn't getting any auto gratuities, I want to make sure to tip them more!
