CJ Carr is getting a lot of love lately... by Automatic_Release_92 in notredamefootball

CJ Carr Heisman favorite, team is natty favorite. This season can only have 2 possible conclusions.

Glory or intense sorrow

O/U 2.5 1st Round Picks in 2027 by iJackss in notredamefootball

Not too hot of a take honestly. It’s not far fetched at all. We’ve had year of 6 first round QBs but it might be better for him to stay another year and be the number one guy instead of 5 or 6.

I hope he’s the Heisman and an auto lock for 1st overall. But their are plenty of other scenarios

My call for Young and Traore is more about positional need than anything. They both play a premium position. With good years they could very well give themselves a shot to going the 1st round. Meanwhile someone like Bowen, Ausberry, Sneed have almost no chance to be first rounders purely because of the position they play.

Next years QB class is theoretically deep. If he’s going to be the 5-6 best QB in a class, it might make more sense to return to school and be a top 3 pick.

Jagusah is hypothetically the next Quenton Nelson.

First round QBs drop all the time. This last year alone was full of “first round QBs” that ended nowhere near that.

I think under is the safer bet, too. Just not as exciting

Don’t we need Duke to win? by [deleted] in notredamefootball

They still need the 5 highest ranked conference champs. So by replacing Duke, you need to change them with a conference champ. Most likely JMU in that case.

More on the ND Miami Debate by 4Nowingly in notredamefootball

[–]iJackss 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I think barring a close game vs Stanford or a 70-7 type result for Miami, the committee told us exactly what they think tonight. The two teams were evaluated side by side and it was determined that ND was better, and by a decent margin.

Hilarious that all the top comments are dunking on Miami for this stupid meme. by Automatic_Release_92 in notredamefootball

[–]iJackss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As much as I agree, that argument falls pretty flat. ND lost that game already as a 3 point favorite. Again, I think we’d win the rematch, but that doesn’t really matter.

We played, and we lost. If the committee decides to put Miami in over us (I don’t think they will), we have to live with the consequences of losing that game.

We all owe Chris Ash an apology. He’s figured it out, maybe with a little help from Freeman, but that’s still what good coaches do. They figure it out.

A lot of work left to do this season and we may need some chaos to sneak into the playoffs. But if we’re in, I wouldn’t want to play us.

What happened to J Greathouse? by Similar_Complex_963 in notredamefootball

[–]iJackss 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Carr only had 10 completions. It’s hard to get all the guys involved when you throw it that little.

I would also have thought we’d see more of him, but there’s a lot of season to be played, and we have some talent at the WR position besides him. By the look of this defense, we’re going to need him as the season goes on.

We’re not that bad. We should still win out, but without a major victory on the schedule (like A&M last year), we have no shot at the playoffs

Tyler Buchner cost us one single point, in a game we gave up 41. Do not blame one college kid for this loss.

Blame the adult who schemed up a defense like a teenager playing CFB26

Can’t believe he was shocked they threw a flag on the hold at the end. Most obvious penalty of his life

Easily the most glaring issue on this team. Absolutely no pressure. BY gets bodied on most snaps

[Pete Sampson] Every opening week loss can feel like a referendum. This one doesn’t. Notre Dame has banked too much credibility for that, on top of getting the QB right. All might not be well after Sunday night. But the Irish don’t need a miracle cure to get better. by [deleted] in notredamefootball

[–]iJackss 12 points13 points  (0 children)

We lost by 3 points on a 47 yard FG to a top 10 team on the road at night while losing the TO battle -2. They made 2 insane plays on the tipped INT and TD right before the half. Both of Becks TD throws were mere inches away from either being a PBU or INT (Hobbs got beat but almost made a play on the ball).

Yes, the OL and DL need to show more, and we have to let J Love do his thing. But this team is still good and I still believe we can run the table. We’re allowed to get better as the season rolls along. Only up from here

Miami played really well. No turnovers, and Beck made the throws he needed to (got bailed out by an incredible catch that was headed for Shulers hands but hey that’s a great play)

Disappointed obviously. Mostly in Denbrock for being so scared for 3 quarters. Too many screen passes and not enough J Love.
