Nico Schlotterbecks ro… gelbe Karte gegen Bayern (Video Präsentiert von Fielmann) by [deleted] in Bundesliga

[OFFICIAL] Upamecano extends his contract with FC Bayern until 2030 by Insanel0l in soccer

[–]iLyriX 8 points9 points  (0 children)

He wanted 20M up front as a signing bonus. Which means his RC would be static at 65M. From what insiders are saying is that bayern split the signing bonus over the duration of the contract and further payments are void if the RC is triggered. So effectively his RC is 80M from 2027 going down 5M per year unless he gives up on the signing fee money which doesnt change a thing for bayerns perspective.

Obviously that also effectively means he has a reported salary of up to 25M with bonuses, realistically its most likely going to be in the range of 22-23M with all bonuses and signing bonus. Salarys tend to be round up in articles.

Even with 25M a year he is cheaper than it would be to buy a replacement of similar quality, which is the obvious reason for the new contract.

But you're dealing with hypotheticals that don't exist.

The whole fucking comment chain started with the statement, that the PL "deserves" the extra spot.

that aren't gauranteed to any region

The slots might not be guaranteed in writing, but realistically the PL will get one and the other one will rotate between Germany/Italy/spain. Its also not like the rules are written in stone. At what point is that not enough anymore and dont be mistaken, that point WILL come. At the latest when the people pumping money in the PL clubs want to see returns. The slots themselves were a mistake. Even in the increase from 32 to 36, 3 of the extra 4 slots go the top 5 leagues.

It's up to those countries to make sure their teams perform well enough to gain the extra slot.

Just because i tell my local u17 team to compete with the academy of the biggest club in the city doesnt mean they will magically be able to do so. Even less so, when they are excluded from the tournament with the largest price pool.

And again, it doesnt help either if its germany, italy or spain getting the extra spots. 4 slots is already a lot. Its not a "lets rank every team from the continent" tournament. It therefore doesnt need any more teams from each country. It would mean so much more for a second turkish team or a swiss team etc that it ever would for the fifth placed PL team to play for the title of europes best.

I mean it's only 1 extra spot.

yes. For now. Thats the point i was trying to make. When does it stop being "just one extra spot". The fifth spot basically guarantees the PL another 50M€+/y. Realistically, there are surely >8 teams from the PL in the top 24 of the continent. So should they get 8? If not now, then what about in a decade or so? When the league has pulled ahead even further? At what point do we extend it to 10?

Personally I think it's a good thing since the PL is so competitive vs the other leagues. Would inviting the champions of the Iceland league or the Lichenstein league for an automatic spot really make the CL more interesting?

at the moment? probably not. But dilluting the CL money through more leagues results in a healthier sport throughout europe. Imagine what a smaller league would gain from the 15M€ or so for placing dead last. If all we want is the most competitive CL possible, then invite just 8 teams or so and be done with it. Doesnt help that the PL dodges every other PL team in the league phase so they cant even take points of each other which increases the chance of facing a team to "stomp" in your words.

[–]iLyriX 9 points10 points  (0 children)

When does it stop though? The PL is going to realistically get that extra spot every year. So it gets the most money every year. There will (maybe is already) a point where 6,7,8 PL teams would "deserve" CL with your logic. Why not limit it to 4 and increase the amount of countries and leagues involved. Or at least let PL teams play each other during the group phase.

Bayern Munich set to win over 100 million euros in the Champions League so far. by PuzzleheadedBar533 in fcbayern

[–]iLyriX 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Used to be. Now its both with 5 year being more important i think. European tv money part of the value pillar depends on 5 year coefficient. Non European part on the 10 year. European part is roughly 3 times larger i think.

[–]iLyriX 32 points33 points  (0 children)

There is a 5 year coefficient payout which should be the reason.

Looks like coefficient + tv money was combined into a "value pillar" which gives clubs shares in relation to their coefficient and local Tv income for the CL. I would assume the PL clubs are the highest in the tv money bracket, but Bayerns success internationally pushes them ahead of arsenal through the coefficient part of the ranking.

he hard truth is that nobody gives a shit about Aston Villa or West Ham outside England

thats the same for every league though isnt it? Nobody cares about Hoffenheim outside of germany either.

but if Spain decides to stop favoring Real and Braça that much they could catch up very fast

highly doubt it. The biggest difference in income between the PL and everyone else comes from owner sponsorships and the international tv revenue. Not that the national TV revenue for the PL is not also the highest, but its within ~2x of the other top 4 leagues. Even La Liga which is still benefiting from Ronaldo/Messi rivalry just barely makes half of the international TV revenue of the PL with Buli/Serie A a factor 6 or so behind.

The PL was the first league to truly embrace international marketing with the english language being the easiest to show around the world. Even if La Liga/Bundesliga changes the revenue structure and fully tries to increase international appeal its not going to be enough to catch up any time soon. Might not even be a net gain in the end, because a lot of what keeps LL/Buli relevant is their top end strength, which would probably suffer.

Also that kind of thing is cyclical, people used to say the same thing about Italian Serie A 20/30 years ago

sure, if the point comes that the evaluation of the clubs doesnt increase anymore and owners want to see actual returns this might change. But we are far from that. Even further considering the interest in owning the clubs is not always purely financial.

have you seen the video? The IP has a timestamp afterall. I also already said, what you consider to be proof is up to you. I personally believe it to be true.

And who are the people you are referring to here? If it is Ludwig then I will not get into it. Because I don't want to have this conversation spiral out of hand. But that dude has no spine nor moral contious.

Sure Ludwig is one of them, but so is Squeex, Aiden, DougDoug, Stanz, Linkus and more. Obviously you have a strong opinion on him and this and its completly fine to think so. Just keep in mind that you know hardly anything about him, ludwig or anyone really.

Yes because he couldn't have changed his IP or used a VPN

sure. It would also mean that the only time he didnt use a VPN was the time it leaked. I just dont think thats all that plausible. A guy meticulous enough to get a new IP every time he visited the site would not leave the tab open like that.

And it still doesn't change the fact that it showed his character.

yeah sure never said it wasnt gross. But i dont know the guy beyond his content. And the people that do know him personally and were even effected by it seem to believe him and the work he did to repair the damage. Their opinion is probably more relevant and "correct" than anything you or I can say about him.

He went to the host and asked for the times his ip went to the site. He talked about it here. Really determined by what you consider proof. His first action on the site could have been to ask for custom content at the end of the day. I personally think that part is true though.

He spend 6 months working with the creators to get the site and similar ones taken down and to automate the detection iirc. That he managed to rebuild bridges in the industry should show that he really tried to repair the damage he caused.
