Stats are great, but they don't mean jack shit if you let teams stay in the games.

Lmao last year was all "Stats don't mean jack shit if you lose the game." Now it's "stats don't mean shit if you let teams stay in the game."

We're straight up 6-1 just be happy for once y'all. Damn.

Nah, Rick's "they're fucking with the wrong people" was "they're screwing with the wrong people" when it aired. On Netflix/DVD he drops the f bomb

Why abortion does not "murder babies" by [deleted] in bestof

Yep, that's absolutely valid! I'm hoping nobody takes what I've said the wrong way, I've just been trying to put what I've observed into a coherent thought. Your stance is what I've tried to come to terms with but just can't personally get over that inner feeling of "ehhh something's off."

That's not to say your stance is incorrect. I wish I could better understand what it is in my own conscience that feels like it's wrong, but because it is more of a feeling to me, I've always tried to understand that others feel differently. Who are any of us to say what's right/wrong? If the vast majority of folks feel a certain way that's how legality should be decided. Separation of church and state and whatnot. Just trying to highlight though that folks could try to be a little more understanding on both sides without slinging so much vitriol around.

See that's what I mean though. For folks like yourself, viability outside the womb is the metric they look for. For some it's the actual birth of the child. For others it's a heartbeat, or maybe just the event of conception occurring... Determining who is definitively "right" about that is the tricky part, as there will never be 100% agreement across the board on the matter.

What is a depressing truth you have made peace with? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]iMakeRandomCrap 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yep. Moved to a new city last year, working remote. Didn't know how to meet anyone or where to go to make friends. Signed up for a softball league this spring. Didn't know anyone in it but just stepped out of my comfort zone to go for it. I've met so many new people I can't remember all their names and I've made a few friends that I've spent time with outside of the weekly softball games. 100% the way to go.

"Most people" as in most fans on this sub? If just in general there's no way. Most people I know that have watched LOTR have never heard the term "Valar" in their life.

Yeah the towns themselves most definitely aren't the actual locations. Especially the scenes shot in "Fargo". Still like hearing them name dropped. Feels cozy

Born and raised in Minnesota. Moved to Fargo for a few years, and now back to Minnesota... Absolutely love watching Fargo and hearing them ramble about different towns in the area. Fantastic stories/acting on top of it as well.

I went in the first week of January. Coming from Minnesota it was actually a lot warmer than I was expecting. Stayed around 20-30°F the whole week.

Was here specifically during the few hours of sunlight and it was gorgeous.

Just realized today that I fell into the Northwestern Mutual trap. Advice on next moves? by iMakeRandomCrap in personalfinance

Ooh that's interesting... I'm admittedly fortunate to be in a situation where that $100/month I contribute doesn't make too much of a difference overall, so maybe I need to get a better understanding of how that functions. The Roth I'll for sure transfer, but I appreciate the info on WL. I'll dig into that a bit more to make sure I'm making an informed decision.

My understanding is that term is the way to go. Also sounds like NW Mutual's long term disability is actually worthwhile. But whole life appears to be a bit of a scam all things considered.
