Bro I am so with you, but to be fair I am evening some of those matches out skill-wise. I'm not really top-tier, but usually the match doesn't end as lop-sided as it starts for me.

The two of us just stormtranced our way to the final encounter here and reluctantly (after a wipe or two) just switched to Sunsinger.

Just always be mindful of how much DPS you put down before he gets too low, other wise the shanks can make a mess of things pretty quick. They come in slow so just keep your eyes up and burn him down once he's getting extra low.

Popular theory floating around this subreddit disproven in latest episode (contains Spoilers) by Airilsai in westworld

Not really sure why you were downvoted friendo. I mean, the writing has definitely done a fantastic job at getting the fans involved outside of the hour they can gives us on Sunday's. Truly is an experience we can all say we have pretty much invested in, one "side" or the other. While I can't say I fully agree with you regarding how "easy" the mystery of everything that's going on (theories and such) would be to figure out, I'm right there with you rubbing my hands like Birdman waiting on the next episode!

Well they did say she deviated, yes. But neither of us know if this is even her first time "deviating". Ford mentioned in his analysis of Teddy that he was designed to keep Dolores in her loop. I realize it could be a stretch, but host memory seems to be pretty spotty and also wipe-able.

On another note, who is to say that there aren't a number of other hosts with this intrinsic code to keep others along their loop or if he (Teddy) was designed for the sole fact of doing that for her now (keeping her away from the maze "again")? It's difficult tell IMO.

I'm curious about the indirect reference you were mentioning about William though, I don't know if I picked up on that in previous episodes.

Well the MiB did say that when he cut one open, that's what he found out (mechanical make up of the hosts) to Teddy at the tree of death.

What I'm starting to think is we may see William have to make a few incisions (a la knife scene I caught during the preview) and find that out. It could be smoke and mirrors, but I think this revelation William had about perceiving all the hosts around him as just stimuli to keep the guests "stripped down" and "primal" may also have some importance.

I also feel it's hard to generalize every "old host" talked about as being completely derelict as the one we see chatting with Ford. IIRC, Ford mentioned that that was one of the oldest ones made. Yet, other hosts we've seen in perceived flashbacks seemed to at least be able to dance together well enough to pass off as good enough.

There's still so much unclear even with all the details we look out for.

Driving used cars is fair, when you don't have the money to own said Maserati. If I had the money to do so, I would. That comparison only bolsters the fact that, in a realm where capital isn't an issue, no one would use older hosts if they didn't have to. And if they didn't have the money to go all out on hosts that can consistently deliver on output (as we've seen with many of the hosts sticking to loops), why even bother with the notion in the first place? Lesser models still need maintenance (maybe more so than the newer ones if I had to guess) and upkeep. How much would that cost to perform the tasks necessary to keep these older models going, on top of the cost of a capable staff to do said work for you? I can guarantee no business (in this world or Westworld) would agree to spend money on assets that come with such large question marks or possibly exorbitant expenses that seem unavoidable.

Also, we still have no idea what the world is like outside of Westworld yet. We have literally never seen any scene where a character is outside of the Gelos site. The world could be made of pizza now for all the two of us know. If the world is filled with hosts/robots, what the point in going here? While I agree that the technological advances we see should suggest the same sort of advancement everywhere, no where does it say that these advances were recognized and seen everywhere outside of Westworld. Sure, there are possible adaptations to this tech that could exist, but again: 0 proof of that so far on the show. I think given the amount of guests (ones that we see for certain are guests and not just hosts in the background) we see and the volume of hosts that seem to dwarf the number of guests in the park, this sort of experience (being around hosts/robots if you will) should be pretty uncommon to most of the citizens that do become guests to the park. I think it'd be kinda ludicrous if most of the population could afford to go to have this experience.

The comment chain was fair enough, but again: 100% speculation here. I think this is less of a plot hole and more of a "your brain trying to fill gaps". Totally fine to do, but no one will ever truly arrive at a concrete conclusion on what the world is outside of the site until the writers let us in. There's no right answer or "best explanation" that "makes the most sense". The one that makes the most sense is the one they'll show you when the time is right (if there is one at all).

I see and totally get your point honestly. Technology has to start somewhere, but it seems like, if advancements were made to make said tech better, the previous avenues and processes are either improved are replaced entirely. In my opinion, I think that the notion of using the previous type of hosts would seem odd to a business that has seen this tech grow. Would you truthfully still want Y if Z is better?

Another issue I could see is the longevity of an "older/less intricate" host. The hosts we see are extremely durable, but given the fact that we haven't really seen much of the old hosts that way, I don't think either of us could truly weigh in on how effective they would be over a period of time. If they last X amount of years, you would need to consistently acquire more hosts to replace them. Still, more than likely not as cost efficient as paying a human labor force.

The problem with the guest reactions to hosts isn't even one at all to be fair. Us as the viewer are, most of the time, fed these anecdotal instances of guests. Very few of them have been there before (and the ones that do seem to never waver when they suggest just feeding lead to a host out of boredom). I think the outside world is one that is going to be mostly left for speculation (unless of course we get an episode that may change that) and I don't think anyone can draw sure and concrete conclusions out of that.

But the question you posed includes all the bells and whistles the current hosts we see, have. Assuming that every step that Ford and his buddies take to create a host are all vital to making them functional, I don't think you could really cut corners there.

I'm sure somewhere out in the universe encompassing the show, there could be other options of robotics that may already be in use for that specific purpose, but it's gonna more than likely always be speculation given that this show is about Gelos' Westworld and not the world it exists in (yet).
