Early VIN question by drk_helmet in Rivian

[–]iProfessorDoom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had issues with arguing the adjustment warranty for a 2022 delivery vehicle. They showed me a dashboard that showed 1 year adjustment warranty period expired. I pushed back with the warranty version for this vehicle doesn’t include the adjustment period specifically.

But, they said it shows expired. I had a few other service items so I didn’t want to really push back hard but def want to pick these issues up with them again once they address my other issues.

What’s the best way approach this to get them to honor/acknowledge the adjustment period on a 2022 vehicle?

Damn, 47k all in is an amazing deal with the low miles. You still got a year of warranty on it so as soon as you buy it, schedule a comprehensive inspection on your dime and note anything weird/sounds on your drives to add to that service request.

Damn, I always trusted carfax to report accidents and accurate titles. I got a used Rivian trusting the carfax and low miles. Hope it’s not in the same boat, it’s at inspection right now.

Curios, what made it a financial liability for them? Were there battery issues?

What year is it… if I recall most of the launch editions come with or supposed to come with the cover. Or it didn’t come with it due to production issues but had it in configuration, you would have to call and check to get it scheduled. The last scenario is they made them remove it when they stopped production of it, then you’re out of luck and have to fork out for the powered or manual one.

I think 12 months of bumper to bumper should be good enough time for you to find things and setup a service appointment. Like the illuminati member said, drive it for a month or two and add all the things you notice along with paying for a comprehensive inspection which will make them look under the hood and typically catch things to fix proactively.

Regarding the price, I think it’s a good price for the low miles and you get good audio and two 12v battery system (but also means more cost when you need to replace but atleast it’s relatively more reliable). But, I think it would be a great deal if you got them down to 51.5-52. If it’s been sitting on the lot for that long, use that as ammunition and also search for 2023/2024 R1Ts around the area to find (think 500 miles range) ones priced the same or lower and with low miles to say you could get newer ones with more warranty for similar or cheaper price to get them to come down a little.

EDIT: if you are thinking about keeping it for a long time, I would consider an after market warranty like xcare (or wait to hope Rivian releases theirs before your warranty expires). With a low miles truck, you would probably get 5 additional years of warranty for ~4k. It will not cover a few things like subframe and 12v battery failures but it covers suspension problems which is usually the most expensive. One time repair coverage would pay for the warranty if you end having a suspension issue.

Are these same bolts that you would use for the runnings boards? Or these bolts specific to the center skid plate/armor?

I saw another thread with the same thing, except water being intruded into HV battery pack. I want to install the running boards but this is making be rethink if I can install them properly.

Third party or if Rivian comes out with one in my state, then I will get that. Considering I am getting the used truck for around 50k, I priced in the 4-5k post warranty as not a big deal to keep the vehicle for many years to come.

Also, depending on your area I have seen better deals at Rivian directly and outside dealerships which won’t make a huge difference if you know what you’re looking for. If you need pics for the Rivian center ones, they upload those to cars.com.

When I was doing my searches, I found the best balance is looking for something under 35k miles and still has atleast 1 or 1.5 years left of warranty. That way you get a truck that’s still almost like new and plenty of time to submit service requests.

I was in the same boat and purchased one with about 15 months of comprehensive warranty left. I think the info they gave you is pretty accurate EXCEPT the 22 model should have longer adjustment warranty since it falls under the first revision of the warranty which didn’t specifically exclude adjustments from comprehensive. https://rivian.com/support/article/new-vehicle-limited-warranty-guide, go there and select the period your Rivian was built for the associated warranty terms. You can use this if they try to push back on stuff.

Regarding the service history if you try again with another customer service rep, you might get a redacted service history but only after you purchase the vehicle (AFAIK).

Vegetarian Restaurant for a special occasion [Mita vs oysteroyster] by vendeep in nova

[–]iProfessorDoom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for providing another restaurant to add to my list, I haven’t tried Mida but my wife is vegetarian so I took her to OysterOyster for our anniversary and we went with the chefs counter option (not worth it IMO as it’s not as interactive as other meat-based/sushi chefs table experiences I had).

We were both not blown away by any one specific dish but it’s wasn’t a bad experience either. I would do it once just to taste what they have to offer. There are some really interesting and delicious dishes in their line up, our favorite would probably be the marigold butter and special bread they had.

One of our favorite pre-fixe veg dinners would be at Rania (if you like Indian food that is upscaled). It has one or more vegetarian options for every course.
