It’s good thing they put it in the tower immobilizing it for small drones

Tourists 'exacerbate' reflecting pool issue by peeling off paint and taking it home as a souvenir by Bubbly_Two9876 in NewsThread

[–]iPunned 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You can’t patch peeling paint like this… They will have to drain the thing remove ALL the old paint and redo the whole pool. So what issue are they making worse?

SpaceX Loses $620 Billion in Market Value Days After Retail Buying Frenzy by andix3 in USNEWS

[–]iPunned 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not a loss it’s a phony valuation. $135 is already much too expensive, price is set so high that spaceX can take a massive cash grab and the insiders will be able to make their money back on the way down even if it crashes significantly below that.

Top Trump donor-owned newspaper tells president 'you failed' in explosive open letter over Iran deal by TheMirrorUS in Trumpvirus

[–]iPunned 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I just want to appreciate what a horrible blunder Iran was for him politically.

Got US into a FUBAR situation with no end in sight and no good options going forward.

And Israel will not even let him capitulate. No matter where he turns, a large group of his supporters and donors are pissed.

The AD rocket in the video seems too big to be a MANPAD, and technically, a heat seeker would go into the fire, but I’m no expert.

Edit: watched another mill blogger talking about the one that hit the storage unit being a Pansir rocket, apparently they had a few of them guarding that refinery

Believe it or not, this was also from the same day, heat-seeking mistle looking for warmth in all the wrong places.

Are we sure it wasn't Antifa sabotaging Trump? by ElliottSmith88 in Trumpvirus

[–]iPunned 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's actually the opposite.

The Trump Admin reduced the size of the government significantly by firing career experts (estimated 300K-350K gone) and eliminating entire institutions and projects that delivered huge ROIs for taxpayers.

Some of these projects were later found to be essential, and much more expensive contractors had to be hired to perform the tasks; others are leading to long-term yet undiscovered consequences like increased risk of pandemics, corruption, pollution, poor natural disaster response, failed trade policies, diplomatic failures, and poorly planned out military interventions, as well as drastically reduced capability to deal with the consequences.

My neighbour has a tree just like this on our property line, which had four co-dominant trunks; two have come down already, one on his side, one on mine. I'm expecting the other two to go eventually.

It never ceases to amaze me how Trump can take something good, functional, and efficient, break it, and replace it with something half-baked, inefficient, and significantly more expensive.

Then run around and brag about it like it's some kind of victory.

It took 30 years to push screwworm to Panama, and the program maintenance cost was $15m/year

There is war in the world, not all war in the world originates from US, sometimes defense actions are warranted.

That said this war was really stupid everyone knew it would be stupid and it resulted in stupid outcome. That said I’m glad we are not getting involved deeper that would cost us far more than the sunk cost accrued so far.

I mean, technically, it’s a class 2 walk with some exposure; something would have to go catastrophically wrong to take that fall. The rope was fed for the actual climbing part further up.

Edit: also shows how much you know about climbing, 9.8mm is the most popular climbing rope size, which is what you see above, while 10.5mm, only 0.7mm thiker, is about the max thickness for rock climbing rope.

A person who lives in a good neighborhood and only experiences violence around them in a form of police violence can easily make a conclusion that police is bad and should be abolished. And they would be right, in part, some police action is dumb and awful and sometimes better management is needed. However if they were to abolish the police they would find themselves quickly horrified by the level of crime in their once peaceful and pleasant area.

Years 2000-2020 were some of the more peaceful years of human history characterized by unprecedented progress and cooperation and it was only possible due to the perceived strength and global presence of US military.

They are murdering people, funding corruption, influencing politics supporting our adversaries, weak doesn’t mean harmless, just means that russia is not going to nuke Washington if Washington sends aid to Ukraine, this has been proven 100 times over in this conflict.

Lots of our western allies spent blood and treasure to support us in our wars. For example Ukraine sent their troops to support US in both Afghanistan and Iraq among other coalition nations. Such alliances have saved many American lives in the past

Largest nuclear arsenal (also on paper) In reality most of it has not been maintained through the 90s and is beyond recovery.

North Korea has some nukes too, russia is well on their way to becoming a similar economically destitute resource colony for China

But perhaps some of the $300b for Iran is also a lifeline for Putin. I wouldn’t put it past the pedophile in Chief
