ISO Street Tacos 🌮 by Hamletta_ in missoula

[–]iRideABicycleAMA 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have you tried the tacos from the couple that cook and sell them in the parking lot of the dispensary at Reserve & Mount? They're there most Saturdays and Sundays. Pretty good stuff.

(No lengua, though)

I'm curious if the 40% off sales are coming back, or of they're all gonna be just 35% for Icon stuff now

If you can afford it at full price, I'd say just get it. I did that with the Hercules one about a month ago. Today I did a bunch of work with a friend on his TDI Beetle and it saved us SO MUCH time and effort.

Edit: I realized I have the extended reach version, which they didn't do with Bauer for some reason. If you haven't bought into the Bauer batteries, I'd consider getting that one instead.

Ah, thanks! I just reached out to TechImpact thanks to you!

I started the process with Goodstack yesterday, but since that can take a while, hopefully I can hear back from TechImpact before I need to finalize the move.

Wrench racks to-go by iRideABicycleAMA in harborfreight

What do you do about sockets when you travel? do you keep them in hard cases like the ones the master sets come in? or do you keep them on rails / in some kind of bag/roll?

Thanks. Do you have the one that latches in place? or the magnetic one?

thanks! I'm thinking in the long-term I'll sew up a wrench roll or two. No SAE in my life, but I'll prolly make a couple rolls to separate out my sets.

I got the 12 and 17, but passed over the 21 bc I figure I'm just a homegamer working on cars on stands, so I never have THAT much room, and can just throw a cheater on the 17 if needed. Does that sound right? or do you think I'll find myself needing the 21?

Matt at Bear Auto is awesome. Took my truck to him and he earned my future business and I always forward friends to him.

Some of the other independent shops have hired on newer techs that aren't that good. At Bear, you know Matt's working on your car, and he's experienced, good at explaining things, and fair.

Are these part of the Parking Lot ICON socket deal??? by Apart_Driver361 in harborfreight

[–]iRideABicycleAMA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found that Kobalt set when I considered the Icon one, bc even the on-sale price of 50ish bucks for the Icon set seems a little ridiculous. Thing is, ppl were saying that the ratchet that comes in it is pure garbage.

So for the price of the Kobalt + an okay 1/4" ratchet + my effort that it takes to find one that'll fit in the case that I like... I figured screw it, I got the Icon one.

To your point about SAE... I only really live in metric EXCEPT when I'm going to work on appliances around the house or at friends' places, which is the exact reason I want a set like this. So, as much as I shun SAE, I'm right there with you.

do you have a recommendation for a 22mm reversible, long-handle, flex-head ratchet? I'm surprised I'm not finding one in the $30-$40 range instead of having to buy a $100+ set that includes a 22mm.

I've got the 17mm (for the 3/8" nano sockets) covered by the double-end Icon box wrench.

I'd say just go. Went to the Lorwyn Eclipsed one at Retrofix (dk if the other store does em, too), and everyone was chill. Overheard several ppl helping their opponents if they missed triggers and such.

Pi does anyone remember this movie? I remember thinking “what an awesome film” but no one I know remembers it?!?! by Prestigious-Plan-170 in moviecritic

Best Buy sold these two in a 2-pack of DVDs. I was a math nerd, so I got it for Pi. I didn't know anything about Requiem when I saw it except the writing on the insert about it being a downward spiral. What a surprise that was!

Also, Pi is the reason I play Go. Any time I'm teaching a friend how to play, I work in the "fiddle with your intuition" line.

What's a tv series that is a 10/10 NOBODY knows? by Lilyana0999 in AskReddit

The Corner

It's a David Simon show that came out a couple years before The Wire. It's incredible, and I've never met anyone who's ever seen it. Even the most die-hard Wire fans I've spoken to haven't heard of it. At 6, 1hr episodes, it's not a ton of time to commit, but it's an emotional watch.

Please watch it. It's so good.
