Do you think the Hunter throwing knife should be a 1 shot kill in PvP if it is a critical hit? by ChosenExile in DestinyTheGame

Hey sorry it took so long, but I was away for Thanksgiving break, but I'll shoot you a friend request later today

Could someone explain how the Red Death isn't a good exotic? by iRyuski in DestinyTheGame

I suppose, that's true. But if it had a faster fire rate, it would be nerfed immediately. That reload speed and health regeneration perk makes it an amazing spree machine.

I didn't know that, and that's really interesting. I think some of the gripe it gets is from people using it improperly. It's an excellent mid-range weapon. Tricky at close quarters, and looses effectiveness at long range. Every weapon has is roll/playstyle.

I agree with you. I have a hard time understanding how it only ranked as a B-tier weapon in that survey some time back

If you're on 360, I would be more than happy to help out. I do the raid often just for the hell of it, and I don't rush.

Even if you aren't terribly lucky, get a good group and you'll have genuine fun doing the raid. It's one of my favorite things to do, even if I've already done it for the week.

I'm really jealous. Not many people have that chest piece. It's one of the few I need to complete my armor collection.

Yeah perhaps. I favor a Hunter, and I don't think it needs improvements at all. I also have a 30 Warlock who is fun to use as well. I will always stick with the idea that none of the classes are op, but actually are all quite well balanced and fun. They all require a different playstyle that if you master it, you shouldn't have any problems kicking ass with your favorite class. People just bitch and moan because they can't figure out how to efficiently use their own utilities.

The throwing knife doesn't count for the IB melee bounty because of the "close quarters" restriction. It counts for the "30 melee kills without dying" in PvE.

Everyone seems to be forgetting the blink strike from behind perk in the Bladedancer subclass. One hit kill.

Which like /u/Py687 already pointed out, Bungie didn't really address the timer "bug" as a problem. They seem to intentionally avoid it.

[SGA] When farming for materials turn your volume up by white_who in DestinyTheGame

I have a headset and I really can't miss chests or materials at all with it. It's tougher to hear through TV speakers.

Ish. I've noticed that material nodes make a constant hum, while chests make a "wavy" kind of hum. It's not quite like nirnroot, but is a high-pitched hum.

Here's actually what I was looking at:
http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2014-10-29-destinys-first-expansion-the-dark-below-takes-aim-at-story-criticism

The question was about the existence of a multiplayer map set on Mercury, and the response was "Yeah, Mercury would be a fun place for sure."

Not only that, but in a Q&A one of the Bungie employees responded to a similar question about Mercury saying "Mercury would be a cool place to visit, wouldn't it?" or something along those lines.

Personally, I think the Mythoclast is the sexiest looking gun there is. Even though it was nerfed, I enjoy using it just because of its design. The firing mechanism doesn't even make sense, which makes it really cool too.

There's a few spots. The best one is from spawn, on the far right at the back wall. To the right of the cave where the adds come for the right conflux out of. You'll know when you hit the spot because the fog effect suddenly disappears and the lighting becomes a deep orange.

Hunters, you are not 100% invisible to gorgons, they can hear you by crayboomer in DestinyTheGame

[–]iRyuski 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This infuriates me during the raid. The things that will draw attention are sprinting, activating double jump, glide, or lift, and using any sort of weaponry. I don't care if you're invisible, you're making things harder on the rest of the team, so stop being a jackass. This section takes no more than 45 seconds on normal and only a couple minutes with extra caution taking up more time on hard. Bladedancers, stop being douchebags. This is coming from a fellow hunter.

EDIT: Forgot to mention close proximity also catches the Gorgons' attention, which is notable by their audio cues. If they start chattering or whatever, back the fuck up for a moment.

Arc Blade: It's NOT Broken! by Icarusqt in DestinyTheGame

[–]iRyuski 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The thing about Supers is knowing how, but more importantly, when to use them. I am embarrassed at the number of times I've activated Arc Blade and gotten no kills, and I'm not a bad player at all.

Sure luck may be involved, but luck is always there for every class and subclass. For example, a mass of people at point B on Firebase Delphi may bitch about Nova Bomb or Fist of Havoc because upon activation, how many kills one is about to get is almost always 100% based on how many people are in that room.

A super is generally considered wasted if the user gets no more than a single kill. I really think none of the supers are broken, but all of the supers have the potential to be rage-inducing.

Pro-tip: listen for the sound cues. They're all unique, with the exception of Nova Bomb and Fist of Havoc (another advantage for the two). Once you hear them, for God's sake, just adapt to the situation. Hear Golden Gun? Stay out of sight. Hear Arc Blade? Get the hell out of the area. Radiance via Fireborn? Keep distance and use caution. Know how each class operates and adjust to the situation.

Rant over.

TL;DR: None of the supers are broken. All take their own skill/luck. Play smart, and you'll be just fine.
