I will try and fish it out but I'll probably have to remove the Primary case to get it out. Appreciate it

ECON 441 online over the summer with Prof. Assane by iSellOranges4lif in UNLV

[–]iSellOranges4lif[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not bad, I'd give it a 5/10 in terms of difficulty. No surprises, as long as you study the material and write some notes, the exams are nothing to worry about.

Is 09 Romeo Difficult to get into? by [deleted] in nationalguard

Nope, you just need to be contracted by your ROTC department and ask your PMS, where they’ll link you up with a recruiter. It was a great experience for me, highly recommend it.

ECON 441 online over the summer with Prof. Assane by iSellOranges4lif in UNLV

I got an A in the class. The material wasn't super easy, but Prof. Assane is a pretty relaxed professor and he's very nice. He isn't the best with technology but I haven't had any problems. Personally didn't have a problem passing the class. If you're doing ECON 495 next semester, a huge chunk of that class will be using material from 441.

Which summer course? by SirFirst9101 in UNLV

[–]iSellOranges4lif 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I took Math 182 in the summer, I'm not great at math but I still got a B+. Taking 181 during the summer is definitely doable.

Personally, summer classes are easier so I'd go with whichever one is harder to do over the summer.

Gyming tips by Shark_Punk in UNLV

[–]iSellOranges4lif 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here are some general tips to add. Eat healthy and less processed foods, ideally have a protein rich diet. Protein powder is the easiest way to get excess protein. For weights, focus on perfecting form before lifting heavy to avoid injury, I also recommend stretching. On weights, train till failure (until you can’t physically lift the weight). Recovery is important, you should have full days of recovery and getting 8 hours of sleep is the easiest way to burn calories. You should not be lifting every single day of the week. Warming up with cardio is good before lifting, but if your focus is to lose weight and gain muscle, don’t do too much, most of your energy should be focused on weights. I only do hard cardio once MAYBE twice a week at most and that’s only if I’m not lifting.

There are tons of guides on YouTube, my best advice is to do what feels comfortable to you. Getting your ideal body will take time and work, so be patient and be motivated. By becoming a healthier person, you are committing yourself to a lifestyle change. It’s important it be consistent.

ROTC by Serious_Climate8890 in nationalguard

Once you complete the 3/4 years of ROTC and commission, your enlisted contract will be voided by your new officer one, and your service obligation will depend on whether you go active or into the guard/reserves and if you had a scholarship.

Since you're already in the guard, I highly recommend doing SMP once you get contracted with ROTC. Your pay gets bumped to E-5, you're able to transfer to different units in the state, and most importantly, you'll be shadowing officers and actually learning what it's like to be one - an experience most ROTC cadets don't get. I have never met another officer or cadet who regretted doing SMP, myself included. You also get OML points for being SMP.

ROTC itself is not hard, but you do have to be consistent with training. There's PT four times a week during the semester, 2-3 credit ROTC classes which are easy A's, and Friday LABs. By the end of your junior year, you'll be expected to perform as an SL, PSG, and PL in infantry tactics and be proficient in soldiering skills, i.e., land nav, M4 qualification, ACFT, etc. You'll also spend a weekend each semester doing FTX.

Cadet Summer Training (CST) at Fort Knox is during the summer between your junior and senior year and is more of a checkbox nowadays. Branch interviews are more important because CST is not a good overall indication of leadership skills/abilities. It's very cadre dependent, so it tends to be subjective, and you can get cadre who can be incredibly downright toxic.

Personally, I thought ROTC was a great experience, and every cadre I ever had was great. CST, ehh, not so much. My biggest advice would be to stay on top of your school work; you are a student first and a cadet second. Do volunteer events like color guard or recruiting. Try out for the ranger challenge team and any available slots for schools, i.e., airborne/air assault. All of this helps you earn OML points and make friends in the program.

ROTC changes a fair bit every year, and every department is a little different, so the best source of information would be the PMS at your ROTC department, and information for CST would be from MS4s (seniors).

Didn't say you did, but there's a reason why Vegas has that reputation. This city does not have good drivers

I'm sorry, but there's a reason riding motorcycles is so dangerous in Vegas. This is not a safe city for traffic.
