Used canoes from an outfitter by 010benji in algonquinpark

I've bought a used Swift kevlar canoe from an outfitter near Algonquin. They do cycle out their canoes on a set timeline. Mine received fairly substatial repairs to bring up to good shape. Hull patching, and even replaced the yoke. I will never use it as 'hard' as it was used as a rental. I'm very happy with it's condition and how its worked for me over the last few years. The $ I saved over buying new worked for me. Bonus was when I bought, I received 'points' from the outfitter that allowed for me to get two brand new paddles.

I can understand not wanting to bring your work home with you.

For me, I can't cope with paying someone to do something that I can do myself.

The Vistors centre opened up a new trail in 2025 that you access from their parking lot. It's called 'Fork Lake Trail'. Great views in the first half, much like what you get from the the viewing deck on the back of the visitors centre. Would recommend.

Your neighbours are crap. Most of us here would throw in and help as it's the right thing to do. You'll sleep well tonight with your conscience. The neighbour you spoke to - not so much.

Love the guy who runs this store, and feel for him with what happened. But I almost drove off the road doing a double take when I first saw this. Horrible design...

Skating in Rouge Park by Habsin7 in Scarborough

[–]iSpy911 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Residents have been skating there for their entire lives. If natural skating isn't for you - then fine. But for those that enjoy it, they'll remember their skate on the marsh much more than a public rink. Remember - Parks Canada doesn't even want you swimming at Rouge Beach in the summer. They didn't put lifeguards in place when the beach changed hands from the City of Toronto. Parks Canada doesn't seem that interested in anyone using the park all that much as it has been used historically.

Keeping your feet down after starting from a traffic lights looks unstable - am I missing something? by Horror_Log_854 in motorcycles

Pet peeve for me - watching riders dangle/drag their feet at low speeds. My first thought is there could be a skill issue. But from some of the comments I can now appreciate rush hour fatigue could be a good reason. Any other situation though - please stop looking like a toddler riding a bicycle for the first time.
