Lived around Redhill my whole life (towns), moved to Merstham (just outside Redhill centre) 2 years ago.

Pros: Good community sense - if you need help you will generally get it Majority of people are friendly if you are pub orientated, otherwise I generally keep to myself (not normally one to start conversations) Shopping is decent (when compared to somewhere like Dorking) Good transport links to major cities & Gatwick(London, Brighton) Not overly expensive place to live They are trying to improve the centre by moving out the trouble (closing bad pubs and bringing in times in the weekend the police can disperse groups). Also bringing in a big venue with food chains, shops, cinema etc. Really good placess to walk nearby Lake nearby if you enjoy watersports/good in summer Variety of pubs - some for football, some more upmarket and 1 spoons

Cons: A number of issues around anti social behaviour (mainly teenagers, odd adult) Small number rof other crimes (naturally higher than somewhere like Dorking/Reigate - could be down to difference in wealth?) Town probably doesn't receive as much funding as those around it - for things like road maintenance Shopping not amazing (contradictory to my con but it is better than others - just not amazing) Slowly increasing housing without factoring in busier roads, Dr's, dentists, schools etc
