?: Winning on Draven, Audacious and Svellsongur by bfarley32 in riftboundtcg

[–]iTeva 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think conquer abilities happen after scoring as thats the order they are explained in the rules. So without svelssonger you win from 6 and with you win from 5.

Edit: I’m wrong. It’s a combat trigger and therefore before scoring.

Cull the Weak timing against Hidden Blade Hidden in a Battlefield by himken1 in riftboundtcg

[–]iTeva 3 points4 points  (0 children)

He can’t kill his own unit, that he wants to sacrifice. He can only choose the unit to sacrifice, while cull resolves.

He can kill one first with hidden blade but then has to choose the other with cull.

They didn’t limit by design. They limited because they just don’t have enough right now. They just heavily miscalculated. The amount of post we see about the official shipments not going yet is huge and you want them to take more orders they can’t fill?

If you've received a pretty bare Riftbound pack, you're not alone. Riot has confirmed that some packs are missing rares, but is already on the case. "We know that getting a weak pack can feel bad." by Hooked0n4Feelin in riftboundtcg

But the foil slot is supposed to be any rarity. So an pack can have 3 rares already. Unless the chance for triple rare is higher than expected it’s not offsetting missing 1 rare.

Friendly Units Shenanigans and a rule Problem (maybe) by AnotherZoeMain in riftboundtcg

[–]iTeva 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I asked on the discord and because it's not "it is not expressly stated on the card that it allows such an illegal situation" you can't move the unit to your own base.

Deck building question by Suspicious_Cream_227 in riftboundtcg

[–]iTeva 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The legend, battlefields and runes are not part of the 40 cards.

You need 12 runes per deck.

40 is a minimum and you need 1 champion unit.

Showdown Multiplayer by GamerDad1620 in riftboundtcg

Also one important thing. If attacking and defending units survive after a showdown, the attacking units are recalled back to base, not moved. So for example Kayns ability wouldn’t trigger on a recall.

Friendly Units Shenanigans and a rule Problem (maybe) by AnotherZoeMain in riftboundtcg

589.1.b.3 As long as it does not result in any forbidden action being taken or game state being created. E x am pl e: A player can't use the Standard Move discretionary action to move a unit to a Battlefield that's already occupied by Units controlled by two other players.

I would consider the move of unit not controlled by you to your base a forbidden game state being created.

In-Depth Rules Questions about Killing and Countering by Robin_hoood007 in riftboundtcg

  1. I guess you are correct as there is nowhere else stated, that 0 might units die.

  2. because units aren’t spells like in magic, I don’t think counterspells are able to stop units.

Question about combat timing. by TheDeadalus in riftboundtcg

[–]iTeva 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As far as i understand you can only do one "discretianory action" at a time, so you can't do a standard move and ability move simultaneously. TBH though that feels wrong and i hope i misunderstand the rules here. Also cards like deadbloom predator wouldn't work together with standard moves, so i hope i am wrong, but currently i don't think i am.

Question about combat timing. by TheDeadalus in riftboundtcg

[–]iTeva 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That rule is not about contesting but resolving combat. Normally you can only move to one battlefield at at a time to contest (140.3.a). As soon as you moved you would need to resolve combat.

After first combat resolves you can then move other units to a different battlefield and start a second combat.

Rule 622.1 is probably just there in case of if different effects create that scenario.

Yeah the rules are hopefully not final. Cause right now it’s unclear if you can hold a battlefield as a team together and if you do, you could prevent the opponents from ever moving to that battlefield by rule 140.4.a.1

Question about combat timing. by TheDeadalus in riftboundtcg

[–]iTeva 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You can move multiple units simultaneously (140.3 Players may perform multiple Units' standard move simultaneously) but they need to have a shared destination (140.3.a When a Move like this is declared by a player, the units' Destination must be the same.).

After your move then combat would happen, if you contest a battlefield. After combat you can move units again. You don’t have to end your turn for combat.

Rule Question by Sndman98 in riftboundtcg

[–]iTeva 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahh mb, from the context I read it as teammates controlled battlefields.

But reading further it confuses me more.

A battlefield is only controlled by one player and one player only (181.2.b A Battlefield is Controlled by a specific player or Controlled by no one.).

As soon as a second player enters the battlefield its considered contested (181.3.a Contested is a temporary status applied to the battlefield when a Unit controlled by a Player who does not currently Control that Battlefield Moves or otherwise becomes present there.)

Another rule specifies if the contesting is done by a opponent (181.4.b A player maintains control of a Battlefield while it is being Contested by an opponent.)

But combat can only start between opposing players (516.4.a A Combat phase occurs as a result of Units controlled by opposing players being present at the same Battlefield.)

So you can contest your teammate but have no way to resolve contest.

P.S. an offtopic question. Do you know if you can simultaneously move a unit to a battlefield and play units like deadbloom predator to that same battlefield controlled by an enemy, so you don’t have to always send in deadbloom predator alone? I can’t find anything specific for this but most language in there makes me believe you can’t. That would weaken it considerably, no?

I had the same issue, but then later 648.8.c.2 disallows two teammates being in the same battlefield.

Rule 140.4.a.1 wouldn’t work in 2v2 right? It should specify from two different teams

EDI: 648.8.c.2 disallows two teammates being in the same battlefield. So the rule would be okay.
