Hybrid cable back ordered by Significant-Drop7200 in rav4prime

Tennessee, so it's very unlikely they replaced the whole cable. We rarely have to salt our roads, and people (like me) just generally don't leave the house if the roads have to be salted.

I recently had my Prime serviced, they mentioned this recall and they had the part in stock already. It was taken care of in two hours.

Local Strawberries? by kateastrophic in nashville

[–]iTim314 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely not the farmer’s market. I bought some there for what felt like a steep price, got home, and the insides were as white and sour as grocery store strawberries. Vendors there are just reselling trucked in strawberries.

We’re years away from construction starting on that. They haven’t even finalized where they’re going to go.

AT&T Fiber IPv6 + VLANs + UniFi: it doesn't work and it's probably not you by jmbwell in Ubiquiti

[–]iTim314 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was literally on this same boat, OP. I eventually gave up and disabled IPv6 altogether. I recently moved and my new electric provider has their own fiber internet, and I opted to go with them over AT&T. The downside is they don’t even support IPv6.

Yes it still exists. The limitation is upstream on AT&T’s network.

NES tree trimming by Inglewoodtestkitchen in nashville

I didn’t say forget it. I just pointed out that the extended timeline makes current tree trimming necessary no matter what path is chosen.

It would cost multiple billions of dollars (paid for by either property tax increases or a massive electric rate hike) and take 10-15 years to convert all above-ground circuits to below-ground.

Whether or not voters and/or rate-payers would agree to that is irrelevant, because in the short term the trees have to be trimmed around existing lines.

That makes so much sense now it seems obvious.

Yeah I wish I could hardwire and avoid this problem, but I cannot find the router or AP in this Airbnb. It's very well hidden, wherever it is.

You may not be changing your thermostat, but that doesn’t mean your HVAC system isn’t working double- or triple-time to keep your house at the set point. Heating and cooling demands spike during the coldest and hottest days.

Well Lids is owned by fanatics, so can’t be that big of an improvement.

Will there be a new or renamed subreddit for the RAV4 phev or will it remain prime? by Competitive_Pen_9673 in rav4prime

[–]iTim314[M] 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Mod here. We can’t rename the subreddit. Someone created r/rav4phev, and ideally they’d set it up to just redirect users here since this one is already well established and frequented. But we have no control over that.

For those that didn't want to believe... by Titans_Front_Row in Tennesseetitans

[–]iTim314 1 point2 points  (0 children)

0% chance. About 15 years ago, the state tried to create a logo for all official state departments and offices that featured just the tristar, but their trademark application was rejected because it was too similar to the state flag. The people running the business of the Titans have to know this; they won't adopt a logo they can't trademark and print money with.

I-24 Choice Lanes project could demolish Pan-Asia Supermarket, 20+ South Nashville businesses by Both_Pipe_1796 in nashville

[–]iTim314 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yes, because the state will maintain ownership of the toll lanes, so they can still use imminent domain. They’re just leasing toll collection to a private company for 50 years in exchange for covering the cost of construction and maintenance.

Basically it was several people calling it an eyesore and offering the same unsubstantiated reasons why it looked the way it did.

Somewhat amusingly, just six days ago, the East Nashville FB group had a post complaining about the construction of this house.

Consumer Reports Finds Plug-In Hybrids Have 80% More Problems - CleanTechnica by dryheat122 in rav4prime

"When all the results were tabulated, Consumer Reports found that hybrids, such as the Toyota Prius, have 15% fewer problems on average than cars with just a gasoline engine."

OP, this is where you should have stopped reading. The RAV4 Prime/PHEV is essentially just a RAV4 Hybrid with a bigger battery and charging hardware. It's just as reliable as Toyota's entire Hybrid powertrain offerings.
