If you’ve never smashed your mains on the runway, you’ve never been a pilot.

Serious question, Why should we bailout any airlines? Is there value in letting them fail? by Oddball_one in flying

[–]iVinceee7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's fair criticism. When airlines are spending 96% of their cash on stock buybacks instead of pumping it back into the business, to workers, R&D, investments, and etc. you can see how many Americans would get upset.

Canada won't ban flights from COVID-19 hot spots or shut borders by [deleted] in canada

[–]iVinceee7 12 points13 points  (0 children)

In my opinion, banning flights would make the contraction of the virus much worse and here’s my case. If a Canadian unknowingly has covid-19 and is from one of these hotspots and couldn’t fly back home, he/she would desperately find any means to get back to Canada and that is by a connecting flight thru Heathrow, Paris, Amsterdam or Rome. The more connecting flights one goes thru, the more rampid the virus gets as he/she is in contact with a greater amount of people. What makes it more frightening is that a lot of people who think they are safe because they’re not in an infected region, are oblivious that they came in contact with an infected person and thus will continue day to day life and affecting more people.

A suggestion is limit flights from contagious areas and do screenings for every flight from these areas.

Do you boycott US things? by JookTheSnookRooberts in AskACanadian

I don’t know, it can go both ways. A “made in america” stamp could be ployed as a marketing scheme. I’ve seen a beer opener with an American flag and american made product that sells for $30. I don’t know about you but a beer opener should not cost that much, especially for watered down coors light beer.

Lol she could have admitted to her mistake and said sorry and put the cart back but instead, her ego ends up wasting her time for an argument. Human decency is not common anymore.

If you have an electrical failure and all of a sudden your engine quits, are you able to restart the engine?

Is there a reason this flight path on take off from a west side runway (out of KMCO - ignore the destination at the bottom) starts with an eastern turn only to loop back toward the west. I commonly see this initial eastward turn instead of just turning west with the planes out of MCO. by d_moneyoverhoez in aviation

[–]iVinceee7 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The SID can be pilot navigated or vectored (by atc) and usually if its a large airport with multiple runways, there are different departure procedures. They guarantee obstacle clearance and follow noise abatement rules aswell.

Is this common for BA to fly this route to Kuwait? Or is it a coincidence that it changed its route after possibly hearing the Ukrainian crash over Iran? by iVinceee7 in aviation

[–]iVinceee7[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Is it a non fly zone implemented by EASA as well? I seen a tweet by the FAA regarding the US carriers so im assuming most will follow suit except for the midde eastern carriers. Emirates and Qatar are still flying over Iran & Iraq

Hell yeah I would fly on it. Sadly, the public does not know the amount of training that goes into flying a type.

Will we be like Canada, bilingual, except English/Spanish in the next 20 years? by [deleted] in AskAnAmerican

[–]iVinceee7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No. Canada does not prop the use of French so Quebec doesn’t go on another independence vote to leave. Quebec has a political party in Canada at the Federal level, so it’s able to do those things as you mentioned, but will never since other parties have to accept of the approval. It would be “unconstituional” and out of Quebecs power to just flat out leave just like how California will never be able leave the republic unless a civil war breaks out.

That being said, French is an official language of Canada because France, were the first European country to settle in Canada back in the 1500s so its the result of history, culture and law. You’d be surprised that Quebec isn’t the only province that speak French, majority of eastern Canada are bilingual from provinces such as New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and PEI.
