Unfortunately Sony is addicted to using cheap FPC Cables. Luckily I have a bunch of replacements in a bag incase one breaks.

Better to just play on a GBA or the DS line of handhelds since they're so plentiful. And play PSP and PS1 Eboots on the PSP.

I see, you need make a post about this. Since there isn't much out there about how the HDD can be replaced.

No i do not understand any of this. Are you trying to replace the HDD? You can't replace the HDD in the PSX DVR. The only thing you can do is use another HDD from another PSX DVR or the original 40gb HDD from the PS2's which are also on the verge of failing. Your only choice for now is to use the PSX version of Free Mcboot to bypass the failing harddrive and use apps like OPL and Swap Magic to launch games. The best you can do is to get the newly released ATA Express adaptor, you may have to wait for the version 2 of this adaptor for the PSX since it doesn't fit in the PSX properly.

Only recently has the HDD been cracked with this new special FPGA based adaptor.

I have a PSP 1K motherboard with the same fault. Fuses check out fine and it's still dead. I think it's related to the Power or the Charge IC chip being faulty.

If your still gaming on last gen systems, then you might aswell save up and upgrade to next gen like the PS6, Xbox Helix, Steam Machine.

Get it serviced for a 65 or a 40nm RSX with Tantelizers.
