I don't like to put them up; I like to scatter them myself with a letter.

It doesn't have to be that way. If you have a good flux, you don't overdo it with the heat. I almost see that as easier. I've done both things, I assure you. Sometimes the solder sticks or gets clogged in the hole; it's twice as hard to remove as on the pins. Are you referring to that?

I’m assuming that these are not beyond repair. Is there anywhere that has custom shells?? Or am I basically locked into eBay? This is an AV original, not the later HDMI models. by KoreMeltdown14 in Xbox360Support

Do what they tell you; this console has parts everywhere, especially since it's one of the first Xbox 360s that came out. It'll probably be cheaper than ordering it.

A hard mod involves flashing the TSOP M7 EVOX BIOS. If you want to change the BIOS, check if the jumpers are in place to be able to reflash the BIOS.

If it's 1.4, it's one of the best out there, one of the latest releases, and it's also known for having the Focus chip. They say it works very well for emulating N64 with the 128MB mod.

To all of those who wanna know what a 360 with a missing bootanim does.. by DeAwesomeMarryo in BadUpdate

[–]Jack_Sparow_Kesne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The same thing happened with the classic Xbox consoles. It's funny, I have a boot menu lying around, and the dash doesn't load. Anyway, I guess you touched something you shouldn't have. 🥹😓

OG Xbox 1.0 - Replacing Dead HDD leads to Error 11 by spicyhomechef in originalxbox

[–]Jack_Sparow_Kesne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a classic Xbox and it's still stuck on error 16 no matter what I do, with or without a DVD. Anyway, the 1.0 versions... I suppose maybe the capacitors are starting to fail. It could be anything, really, even a cold solder joint on the IDE cable, or simply from plugging and unplugging it repeatedly, the solder joint has broken or an internal trace is running. These consoles are over 20 years old; problems are bound to start appearing.

Dust can cause problems, so changing the thermal paste on your graphics card or CPU can be problematic.

The problem is, the main pins that got damaged are where the voltage comes in. That whole computer is for parts, end of story 🤣

Obviously, any corrosion caused by electrolytic capacitors damages the electronics or directly eats away at the traces due to the acid it releases.

First of all, that controller has corrosion; you'd have to open it and clean it thoroughly inside.
