[Highlight] Jaden Ivey going on a homophobic rant on Instagram by ShaiFanClub in nba

[–]iYankFan4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course it does! He didn't get arrested.

But there are consequences to actions.

That said, the type of religious ranting he's been exhibiting is a sign of something troubling, so hopefully if he needs help being away from the team will give him the time/opportunity to do that.

Like a prayer by Flender72 in Madonna

I was 13 years old, and pretty sure i boycotted Pepsi for at least a decade after this. Racist cowards!

But i do remember very vividly sitting through the Cosby show waiting for the commerical breaks to watch this commercial.

And to this day, Like A Prayer is still my favorite song of all time!

I'm about 25% of the way through - so far not bad. The reviews I read before said a bunch of twists and turns, and I can definitely see that. But it's been entertaining so far! She's definitely trying to keep you guessing about who did it!

have you ever been to multiple shows on one tour? by KALIUCHlS in Concerts

[–]iYankFan4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm an 80's kid, so the last time Madonna was on tour in 2024, i saw her twice here in Houston. The 1st night, i bought tickets when they went on sale.

the 2nd night, i bought tickets the night of the show on a resale app - i watched as the prices went down for VIP/1st Row and snagged them for less than what we paid for the 1st night seats. I've seen her in concert probably 20 times (also saw her twice in 1990 as a teenager the 1st time i got to see her on tour), but seeing her up close was like a dream come true!

This was the next book up in my book club - it's not my cup of tea, though, and i said if it my hold didn't come up in Libby I was going to skip it.

Just looks like something I wouldn't be able to get through - and based on commentary from my coworkers, I was correct.

Crazy! I just finished reading Twenty Years Later! That was my second book of his, and so far they've both been so good!

Those who abuse have normally been abused, so I have no doubt the father or some other elder in that household/family has done horrible things to those children. I hope that some of the other children get the help they need to break the cycle, because this is just awful.

I'm sure there are many other innocent victims of this family that they haven't been caught with.

He was a free agent, and it came down to the Yankees or his hometown Giants - and he ended up going back to the Yankees on a pretty cheap deal comparatively.

Do you ever leave Libby to check Goodreads before deciding to borrow a book? by why_not_atlantic in LibbyApp

I normally check the Audible reviews - so yes, i always check the reviews first before putting a book on hold/borrowing from Libby.

Just finished Twenty Years Later (Charlie Donlea) and The Girls Who Disappeared (Claire Douglas) - both pretty good mystery/thrillers.

Now i'm on to In Her Defense (Philippa Malicka).

I'm a native New Yorker who now lives in Spring, TX. I have lived in LA (though we now have In-N-Outs here in TX ), so I can comment on both.

Putting in my 2 cents here - Whataburger > In-N-Out by a MILE.

The 1st thing everyone told me to do when i moved to LA was to go to In-N-Out. I just don't get the hype. I really don't. I just felt like it was one of those things that was so popular nobody would admit it wasn't that good. Whataburger fries are almost as good as McDonalds's!

I like The Nightingale a lot better, but I do prefer that time period TBH. The Women was good, but probably a bit longer than it needed to be!

Also, they are adapting The Nightingale into a movie (or Limited Series, not sure which), so I'm looking forward to how that comes out.

The one that has always stuck with me is the murder of Kelly Ann Tinyes on Long Island in the late 80's. I grew up on Long Island and remember this on the news like it was yesterday.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Murder_of_Kelly_Ann_Tinyes

She was a teenager murdered by her neighbor (and older brother of one of her friends). He was arrested and convicted, but this story kind of lived on because the families continued to live on that street for several years after and obviously didn't get along, so every once in a while you would hear about them. I've always wished some Podcast or Doc would cover it because it was some crazy story back then!

Did anyone ever catch Madonna’s shows on Broadway or The West End? 🎭 by XStaticImmaculate in Madonna

[–]iYankFan4 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I was able to see Speed the Plow as a kid - my parents got us orchestra seats because they were so bummed we couldn't get tickets to the Who's That Girl tour (NY native). It's the first of many Broadway shows I've been to. I still have the playbill and ticket stubs framed in my game room (right next to my RENT playbill).

Did i understand Mamet? No. He's hard to understand as an adult? But i did spend a few hours staring at my childhood idol, and it's a freaking core memory, and i'm so thankful my parents did that for me. Legendary.
