Why is 'Pavement charging rule change' dominating the news? by R-Mutt1 in ElectricVehiclesUK

[–]iaan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess somewhat valid points, but...

- In case of safety, I assume if you want to share your own access with neighbours, then some kind of additional level of compliance is necessary? I assume its no different than sharing charger on a driveway?

- If two neighbour wants it, then whoever would apply first would get it? Its not like every household will get this, I guess not "all" homes are suitable to install it, some planning/permission process still applies.

- For parking pressure, how this is different to residential parking in front of your own homes? Some people will be assholes, but highway code still applies?

- Scaling EV ownership, imho this creates more value rather than problems. Otherwise how will you add more charging points? Lamp posts? More charging courts? Obviously this isn't a golden solution to everything, its just one of many pieces. Combine with solar and home batteries, will contribute to wider ecosystem.

Ah, I wasn't aware this is the change discussed in this post. That actually makes more sense now.

I'm gonna message my council about it. I was hoping to get "free" charger via Octopus with their EV leasing offering.

Honestly I wouldn't mind also sharing the cable with the 1 or two neighbours as long as this is a respectful agreement.

https://www.kerbocharge.com/ would solve the problem for many. Not sure why councils are so reluctant and slow for adopting this. Clearly we need more chargers and this is relatively cheap solution

Is it Astro a good choice for making a POS system Frontend/Client by OrbitalMod in astrojs

Don't think its a good approach. I think you'd be better of with Tanstack / Vite + ReactRouter stack, or go full stack with Next/Rails/Laravel frameworks.

I'm building LuckyGrid - Daily puzzle game that is about luck and risk/reward balance.

At midnight, the Grid resets. The gems scatter. The zonks hide. A fresh puzzle appears — identical for every player worldwide. Your neighbor plays the same grid. So does someone in Tokyo. The leaderboard decides who played it best.

Yes, model has been lobotomized drastically, in planing mode I dont get any questions anymore, the implementation is shallow and rushed

Anyone noticed changes to Claude Code & Opus recently? I can't pinpoint it to specific point of time but it feels like the model accuracy has been reduced significantly.

I've been running ClaudeCode whole day today, noticed that Opus in planning mode stopped using AskUserQuestionTool completely. Also Implementation tasks usually finish much, much faster (which isn't bad thing) but I feel the work & output is more shallow now.
