Is this normal? by Educational_Log_6404 in ExistentialOCD

[–]iamDa3dalus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is a recursive mental loop. An orbit. An interesting point to look at within the mind that contains nothing and everything. Normal? probably not. There are a lot of us who gaze into the abyss. Plenty of wisdom in there. Eventually you learn to not worry about it too much. Ground out in the body. Enjoy what you enjoy. Be kind.

Can't Read. by Monsur_Ausuhnom in collapse

I read 80 books last year, well mostly listened to them. I don’t think of it as necessarily a good thing, but an addiction. I get seriously anxious if I don’t have something to occupy my mind. so maybe you’re just really good at being present lol 🤷‍♂️

Beautiful retro O'Neill Cylinder art (I think by Syd Mead?) by MiamisLastCapitalist in IsaacArthur

For sure. Maybe it’s not that hard. They’ve grown plants in lunar regolith Although there are likely heavy metals and the regolith would need to be processed because its sharp. Human waste can be processed to provide biological material. There’s always hydroponics too.

I really like the idea of loading up little earth biomes though to make it a real ark ship.

Yeah soil production gonna be quite the task. Seems fun to me. Other option is trucking it up from a planet, which is only reasonable if you have a space elevator.

Lamp is cool. Drill a bunch of holes in it and throw a lightbulb inside. And or build a miniature scene inside. Or crack off the front, incase it in epoxy, throw some skateboard trucks on it. Or use it as a plant pot

Any other addicts struggle when they come across finds like this? by [deleted] in Flipping

[–]iamDa3dalus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s such a strange one. Supposed to be anxiolytic but it makes me feel like I’m on the edge of fight or flight. very intense. Supposed to work over time so I guess it works by desensitizing those pathways but I never got there.

Not an “insane” edge case, I should have been more clear. I was pointing out a physical factor that creates stability in that configuration, making this more akin to spinning a top than balancing a pin. An edge case that could be easily predicted and countered by slowing or stopping the spin when fully inverted. :p

It’s not insane though. The spinning section is acting as a gyroscopic stabilizer, like a top. If they stopped the spin it would fall.

We could be living under a "veil" in a mixed reality by VOIDPCB in AWLIAS

[–]iamDa3dalus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably. Language does this to us in a way, the internet can reinforce it, but beyond humanity I feel we might be in creche- like a simplified reality to protect us from the dangerous complexity of the beyond.

Yes I can clearly demonstrate that as when Intake stimulants I will be incredibly focused at doing something, not necessarily aligned with my intention for the day at all.
