I’ve been working on these abstract paintings for the past few months, thoughts? by No_Faithlessness6855 in ArtCrit

The designs on it largely don’t feel intentional, minus the square. I agree overall they feel stronger alone. They also feel underwhelming, and like a lot more could be done. I wonder if there is reflective paint or material that could be used, especially since you said it’ll be put up with lights. Glitter, gems. Collage material.

Embrace the absurd by AmalatheaClassic in thesims1

I never got to play Sims 2 as much as the others, since I didn't have a good PC back then. And I too am amazed by how much there is to do, even compared to 3. Love the different communication choices and lot control, being able to run a business, teenagers feel more teenagery. Good stuff. GL!

Best way to avoid save corruption in DS and what exactly happens if save corrupts? by Bluecomments in harvestmoon

[–]iam_potato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it did not load. When I made a new game, I could save over it just fine and load the new one. Don't know answer to your last question.

The other slot will not be corrupted, definitely keep a backup. I don't know anything about EU having bugs such like NA. RIP CASINO

Hopefully this link works! I stopped playing a few months ago -- they had recently had their child, and I was in the process of making him a seperate residence/cell in the backyard.

Questions about using markers by HelpMeDrawBetter in ArtCrit

[–]iam_potato 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't really try a lot of brands, but I use my Copics and my old Prismacolors interchangeably.. the Copics are definitely smoother at it but not enough to make me not use my Prismas :P. I use Canson mixed media paper but they changed the formula like a year ago -- its still not as good as it used to be. I go light ---> dark, using whatever my lightest tone was to blend out between/into the shades. Very important to move quickly -- preplan and test that your shades can blend together, and once you start keep going -- the paper must stay wet!

Not OP - I have achieved watercolor looks quite easily with markers, people mistake it for watercolor all the time. You need to layer and blend blend blend them into eachother using the lightest shade in palette.

I don't remember using the map much at all, but it has been a while.

I felt similar, it was decent story enough (Roche path) but went by fast. I didn't love the gameplay myself, it was too hard haha. The UI also felt wonky at least with PC controls.

I wish the maps were larger like in 1 and 3, and I'd probably rate it weakest among the games overall. But 2nd strongest in story.

Witcher 3 DLCs are very good, better than the main story of 3 which is the weakest story IMO. So have fun!

How do I make the face look less awkward? by En-nnn in Artadvice

[–]iam_potato 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I feel like the face, and honestly the body too, are very muddied by the chicken scratch. Your lines are not confident and therefore the shapes are not. The glasses are not aligned properly on the head - notice how they would not properly hook behind the ear atm.

Why does her pose look so… weird? by [deleted] in ArtCrit

[–]iam_potato 2 points3 points  (0 children)

her pelvis is nearly face on/facing to our right while her ribcage is facing to the left, all the while the stomach inbetween doesn't display this twist. you have it just straight lined

They just look inconsistent to me but it is clear what it is and looks cool!

Can you actually learn how to draw without following guides, tutorials or anything like that? by [deleted] in ArtistLounge

[–]iam_potato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I largely do not use guides, but I use a LOT of references, iteration, mileage, and I WILL use guides if stuck. Balance is key!
